Hello Fernway Families!

Can you believe it’s August already? We’re just two weeks away from kicking off the 2024-2025 school year, and the Fernway Staff is buzzing with excitement to welcome you back to school and into our classrooms!

You might have noticed that our newsletter has had a bit of a makeover. We’re thrilled to introduce our new name and fresh look—welcome to The Falcon’s Nest!

As you enjoy the last few weeks of summer, please take a moment to review the important information below to help you prepare for the upcoming school year. And remember, if you need any assistance during the summer, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 708-349-3810.

Our Back To School Bash is a great way to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of the school year in a fun way! You can see your classmates, meet some staff members, and dance away to the music. In addition, food trucks will be there for you to purchase a treat to enjoy. PTO will have a table where Fernway spiritwear will be available. It will be a fun night for sure! Don't forget to bring your chairs or blankets to sit on. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note, since this event is outside, we need the weather to cooperate. If it doesn't, we may need to cancel. So keep those fingers crossed for good weather.

When: August 14th

Time: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Where: The grassy area behind the school near O'Brien Drive

Who: All of our Fernway Families are invited to attend

Elementary classroom assignments and middle school student schedules were released via Infinite Campus Parent Portals on Monday, August 5, 2024. Transportation information will be available in portals on Friday, August 9.

Please contact the Fernway Office if you need assistance with your parent portal.

Fernway's Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Thursday, August 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. This is a special time to spend with your kindergartener. If possible, we ask that you please do not have siblings attend. This way you can focus exclusively on your Kindergarten child.

Important August dates to mark on your calendar:

• Friday, August 9 - Transportation information released via Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Please contact your school office if you need assistance with your parent portal.
  

• Wednesday, August 14 - Fernway's Back To School Bash 5:30-6:30

• Thursday, August 15 - Fernway's Kindergarten Roundups will be held from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.

• Thursday, August 15 - The Board of Education Meeting will be held at the administration building at 7:00 pm

• Tuesday, August 20 - Open House at Elementary Schools for EC, Preschool, K-5 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm

• Wednesday, August 21—First Day of School for All Students (EC - 8): Elementary school students will attend from 7:55 am to 2:25 pm. Please note that middle school start/end times have been adjusted by a few minutes. Middle school students will attend school from 8:40 am to 3:07 pm
