Eagles Exclamation
Summer Greetings from Prairie View Middle School
Dear Eagle Families:
We hope you all are enjoying summer break. As we step into this new academic year, our team is brimming with enthusiasm and dedication to make this year a memorable and enriching experience for your child.
The upcoming important dates are listed below in the newsletter's body. Please be sure to mark these dates in your calendar. We want all our students to be set up for success at the beginning of the school year. Please continue to check your email/Parent Square for important information regarding your student(s).
We are working hard to prepare for our students' return on Wednesday, August 21st, with the new arrival time of 8:40 a.m. for our first bell. For the safety of our students, please review the arrival and dismissal procedures below. Students should also bring their fully charged iPads on the first day of school.
Please send your student with a lunch on the first day. If you order lunch to be delivered to the office, please make sure that your student's name is on the lunch and that it is delivered before their lunch period.
Our Open House will occur on Monday, August 26th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Your student(s) will bring home a schedule for you closer to the date of the Open House.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead filled with learning, growth, and wonderful memories!
Best regards,
Maura R. Baskovich

Arrival and Dismissal
- There is NO LEFT TURN into the parking lot off of 175th street. (see map above; click to enlarge). Turning left backs up traffic and keeps buses from getting into the parking lot. You can also receive a police citation for turning left.
- When you turn into the parking lot, please form a single-file line on the arrows. Once you are in the parking lot, double lines can be formed. We ask that cars not block the far right lane so that buses can get into the driveway.
-------------------------------------
- Do not pull behind the buses at pick-up. Cars should not be in the driveway until the buses have left to avoid collisions with the buses (see map above; click to enlarge).
- When dropping off and picking up, please pull forward as much as possible. When cars stop right in front of the building or do not pull all the way forward, fewer cars can load and leave. Your student will walk down to your car.
-------------------------------------
Walkers
Walkers who live east of Prairie View (toward St. Stephen’s), please use the new sidewalk when walking to and from school. Please reference the map (click on map for larger image) below that includes information regarding which way students who are walking will enter/exit Prairie View depending on which direction they are walking.
*bike riders must walk their bikes until they get to the sidewalk near the street*
Picture Day
Pictures will be taken during your child's PE class on Thursday, August 29. Order forms will be included in your packet that will be picked up during Walkthrough on Wednesday, August 7.
