PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Franklin Families,
Congratulations everyone for completing the 2023-2024 school year! We’ve had our challenges this year, but they do not outweigh the positives and successes we have also had. I want to honor you - our families - for being there for your students and supporting them as they learn, compete, make friends, and navigate high school!
Many of you have asked and shared feedback about a school-wide cell phone policy at Franklin next year. This feedback has overwhelmingly been in support of a cell phone policy. The leadership team and other staff members will be working to create a policy that will focus on 3 school values: 1) Increase community engagement and class discussions, 2) Reduce distractions for students while in classrooms, and 3) Improved sense of belonging and school climate and culture. Be on the lookout for a message regarding the new cell phone policy later this summer. In the meantime, please have conversations with your students about this upcoming change in cell phone use at school. If you have any questions or more feedback email or call me at znaegele@pps.net or (971) 235-0516.
Have an amazing and safe summer. We will see you soon!
Thank you,
Dr. Z

NEW: PPS Summer Resources
PPS is pleased to offer a range of engaging learning opportunities for students in the summer. The theme of our summer programming is Create ∗ Learn ∗ Play! There are opportunities for students of all ages including academic support, credit completion for high school students, culturally specific learning experiences, and specialized supports for our students with disabilities. These programs are offered by both licensed PPS staff and community partners. For more information, please click here.
REMINDER: Chromebook Summer Use
Students were issued a PPS 1:1 Chromebook device and charging cable. This device and charging cable is theirs to use for the duration of their high school years at Franklin. Now that the school year is ending, students will take their Chromebook and charger home for the summer.
Please check with your student to confirm they have their PPS chromebook and charger. Families are financially responsible for replacement costs. Chromebooks are $515 (includes charger), Chargers only are $12.
Please complete this form by Wednesday, June 12th so we can track the loaner chromebooks. Please only complete one form per student.
