Hello Jefferson Leadership Academy (JLA) families and caregivers,
Thank you for making the first week of school a success. I saw students excited to be on campus to see friends and teachers, adults welcoming students in the hallways and classrooms, students making new friends at lunch in the cafe and field, and classes building community and establishing community agreements for the year.
Here are a few details as you prepare for the second week of school:
- No School- Monday, September 2, Labor Day holiday
- Regular Day schedule- Tuesday- Friday 8:00 AM-2:40 PM
- Gates Open: 7:25 AM (Breakfast available)
- Arrival Time: All students are expected to be on campus by 7:50 AM and on time for their classes.
- Dismissal: Students are encouraged to exit the school at the back of the campus on Mira Mar, as there is less traffic.
Reminders
- Bikes, scooters, and skateboards—please remind your students to secure them in the morning using the racks.
- Cell phones- students should not have their phones out during school hours.
It is an exciting time of year, full of possibility; thank you for entrusting your children with us. Please let us know how we can support your student's success this year.

I-Ready Diagnostic One
All students will participate in i-Ready Diagnostic One on September 10th for Reading and September 12th for Math. The i-Ready Diagnostic is a tool used to assess your child's current skill levels in Reading and Math, helping teachers tailor instruction to better meet their needs. It is crucial for teachers to have accurate data, so we kindly ask that all students be present and on time for these assessments. Your cooperation ensures that we can provide the best support for your child’s learning journey.
