I hope this message finds you and your family enjoying a restful and rejuvenating summer break. I wanted to take a moment to connect with you before the upcoming school year.

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of your student(s) in the fall. The staff has been busy preparing the building for their arrival. As we prepare for the new school year, I want to remind you of a few upcoming important dates:

• Walkthrough: August 7, 2024

• First Day of School: August 21, 2024

We will continue communicating important information through our school website, Parent Square, Facebook, and Instagram. Please ensure that your contact information is up to date so you don't miss any updates.

The Prairie View staff is looking forward to welcoming our students back to school and embarking on another exciting year of learning and growth.

Prairie View Middle School's Student/Parent Walkthrough is Wednesday, August 7 from

9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 5:00 - 8:00 pm.

The walkthrough provides an opportunity for parents to purchase locks, gym suits, spirit wear, pick up pre-ordered school supply kits, etc. Students and parents may also walk through the building to familiarize themselves with the location of classes and lockers.

Please note that students will not be allowed to enter the building unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have any questions regarding the walkthrough, please contact the Grissom or Prairie View school office.

Our bell schedule is changing slightly for the upcoming school year.

Important Notes

• Students are still able to arrive at 8:25 AM and will be able to enter school at 8:30 AM.
  
  
• The first period bell will ring at 8:40 AM to begin class, five minutes earlier than previously.
  
  
• Dismissal time will now be at 3:07 PM, eight minutes earlier than previously.

KSD 140 uses the ParentSquare messaging platform to keep parents and guardians informed and engaged with our schools and the District.

• Receive messages from the school via email, text, or app notification

• Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.

• Communicate in your preferred language

• Direct message teachers and staff

• Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

• Sign forms & permission slips, sign up to volunteer, and more all from your desktop or mobile device

We encourage parents to access their accounts by visiting parentsquare.com/signin and REGISTERING using the email or phone number listed in Infinite Campus.

For even greater convenience, please download the ParentSquare app (available free for iOS and Android devices).

Information will be released via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
