Field Flash
September 20, 2024
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are having a great week! It's hard to believe, but parent-teacher conferences are around the corner! 56% of our families have already signed up for a conference - thank you! We look forward to connecting with families in-person on one of our three evening dates. Our PTO Walk-a-Thon is coming up on Friday, September 27th - students are excited for this outdoor event during the school day!
A few reminders:
- Please follow the rules of the road when driving for drop off - our school is in a neighborhood and we want to be sure we are being good neighbors with our parking and driving!
- Please no dogs on school property at drop off or pick up! Thank you!
- Please be sure you call the main office as early in the day as possible if your child is not taking the bus home.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

Social-Emotional Learning at School & Home
Hello Parents and Guardians!
Each month at Field, we have a behavior focus that aligns with our social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum. In the month of September, students are “caught caring” for Respect and Responsibility by demonstrating skills for learning.
Our four skills for learning are;
listening with attention
focusing attention
using self-talk to stay on task
being assertive to ask for help when needed
This month we are also asking students to think about ways they can be respectful and responsible at home to build independence. Your child should have brought home a paper handout called the “I Can Do It-Challenge”. If you need an additional copy, click here. The purpose of this guide is to help students to identify 5 goals for home and to try to build that habit over the next two weeks.
Students should do the following:
Step 1: Select 5 skills for home that help to build an independent habit.
Step 2: Make a plan for how you will complete those 5 tasks each day.
Step 3: Mark your chart with an “x” to show the tasks you completed.
Step 4: Get a grown up to sign your chart to show that you completed your goals for the week and return your form to school (9/20 and 9/27)!
Step 5: Celebrate your success with your classmates at school!
Thank you for your partnership! We Can Do It!

V-Show Newcomers!
V-Show is a parent written and produced show that has been running since 1953! Each year it raises money to fund things like playground equipment, classroom programs and audio visual equipment.
There are big and small ways to get involved on stage, acting, singing or dancing, or off stage with sets, techdeck, advertising or tickets. It’s a great way to give back to the school, meet other families, and have a lot of fun. Come check us out at script reveal and/or email us at fieldvshow71@gmail.com
Parent Fundraiser Event
Who says only the kids get to have all the fun?! Volunteers are needed to help plan a fun, adult-only {a.k.a. kid-free!} fundraiser to support our playground initiative. E-mail FieldPTOVP@gmail.com to join!
