Field Flash
September 27, 2024
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are having a great week! We had an exciting day with our second Phoenix Nest and our Walk-a-Thon. A special thank you to Denise Wsol, the PTO chair for the Walk-a-Thon. Students had a blast, and we are excited to hear about how much money was raised to go towards a full playground remodel!
A few reminders:
- Parent teacher conferences are on October 1, 8, and 10. Sign up has now closed. Please reach out to your child's teacher with any questions.
- Please follow the rules of the road when driving for drop off - our school is in a neighborhood and we want to be sure we are being good neighbors with our parking and driving! We've received calls from neighbors this week who are very frustrated with blocked driveways and have alerted the Park Ridge police.
- Please remember that there is no supervision before or after school on the playground or blacktop. Children should be supervised by a grown-up.
- Please be sure you call the main office as early in the day as possible if your child is not taking the bus home.
I'd also like to make a note about school attendance. Please know that your child's regular and on-time attendance at school matters! Our daily attendance rate is connected to our Illinois School Report Card, which provides our school a yearly rating. Your child's daily attendance also directly correlates to their own academic and social-emotional success. While we know illness occurs, please be sure to avoid scheduling doctor's appointments and family vacations during the school day; this includes having your child leave early on a given day. Each month, Mrs. Donnelly makes contact with families who have children who have been absent for 5% of the instructional days. At the end of October, this will be 2.5 days absent. These first contacts will occur later in October, so we can problem solve and support regular attendance.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

There are big and small ways to get involved on stage, acting, singing or dancing, or off stage with sets, techdeck, advertising or tickets. It’s a great way to give back to the school, meet other families, and have a lot of fun. Come check us out at script reveal and/or email us at fieldvshow71@gmail.com
Parent Fundraiser Event
Who says only the kids get to have all the fun?! Seeking volunteers to join a small but mighty committee to help plan a fun, adult-only night out {a.k.a. kid-free!} intended to raise funds towards a new playground. Everyone is welcome to volunteer and we would especially appreciate if anyone has graphic design skills and/or are parents representing 2nd, 3rd or 5th graders to have good grade-level representation!
