Field Flash
January 24, 2025
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are staying warm with these colder temperatures this month! We are looking forward to warmer temperatures this week, and hopefully we will be able to return to outdoor recess next week!
If you haven't already, please do take a moment to register your children for school for the upcoming year. The deadline is March 14th. Registering by this deadline allows us to hire and plan for the number of classrooms we need for our students. Right now, we have about 83 students registered - last year at this date we have 140 registered. We expect 550 more to register in the next 7 weeks! Please take a few minutes to do your children's registration today!
Now that cold weather is here, please be sure that your children bring the appropriate winter weather gear (snow pants, boots, warm coats, etc), as we do go outside for recess most days. Our weather guidelines for the District are pictured below in this newsletter. Please be sure these items are labeled with your child's name.
A few reminders:
- Please review my Arrival & Dismissal Safety email from December 5th. Please help us be good neighbors!
- Winter has arrived - please send your child(ren) to school with winter weather gear.
- Please remember that there is no supervision before or after school on the playground or blacktop. Children should be supervised by a grown-up.
- Please be sure you call the main office as early in the day as possible if your child is not taking the bus home.
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

One-to-One Digital Learning Survey for Parents
The District 64 1:1 Digital Learning Program started in 2014. The purpose of our 1:1 Digital Learning Program is to provide tools and resources to our 21st Century learners.
District 64 is now conducting a comprehensive Student Device Evaluation as part of our 1:1 Digital Learning Program. The goal of this evaluation process is to ensure that our student devices support the district’s vision, mission, and strategic plan, provide learners with access to needed curriculum, and are affordable and sustainable for the future.
We are asking families to complete this survey. Your responses will help inform the District's next steps in regards to our 1:1 Digital Learning Program and student devices.

Field Family Night (Open House for Current Families)
Please mark your calendar for our Field Family Night Open House on February 12th from 6-7:30pm. I wanted to share a bit more about the event and its purpose.
- Families (parents and students) are invited to stop by at anytime between 6-7:30pm, and stay for as long or as little as you'd like.
- The purpose of the event is for students to showcase their learning; you'll visit your children's classrooms to see some of what they've learned this year.
- Please note you'll enter the building through the main entrance at Door 1, which will be unlocked for the event. You can exit through any door.
- While our teachers and staff will be present in the building that evening, please note this event is not intended to be a parent-teacher conference opportunity. We'll have parent-teacher conferences in March, or you are always welcome to reach out directly to teachers to schedule a conversation.
