Announcing Your Permanent Principal
Dear staff and families,
I am pleased to announce that Jorge Meza will be the new principal of César Chávez School. Mr. Meza is currently serving as the interim principal of César Chávez.
Previous to Mr. Meza serving as the interim principal at César Chávez, he served as principal of Parklane Elementary School in the Centennial School District, distinguishing himself as a passionate advocate for both students and staff. Prior to that, he was the assistant principal of Sitton Elementary School.
Jorge is well-known to the César Chávez community, having worked as School Improvement Specialist and a Spanish dual language immersion teacher for grades 2-5 from 2006-2014. His experience also includes teaching at Clarendon and Buckman elementary schools, tutoring Spanish-speaking children at the International Refugee Center of Oregon, and working as a basketball and baseball coach and youth group coordinator.
Jorge earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Portland State University, where he also completed his principal’s licensure.
Please join me in congratulating Jorge Meza on being named principal of César Chávez School.
Cordially,
Dr. Jon Franco,
