Greenville Splash Masters
October News Splash
Fall is in the air! The bubble at both Caine Halter and GHS will go up on Friday October 10. We are so proud of our many athletes that have finished their open water and triathlon season! It's exciting to see everyone stick to their fitness regiments and enter all kinds of events throughout our local region and around the world! We had so much fun going out to Lake Jocassee the past few months. We also had some awesome swim clinics with our Greenville Splash coaches and Y members! Thanks so much to Zac Mueller and Deb Gambon for coaching the clinics. Remember if you have any stroke or technique questions, don't be afraid to ask one of our coaches for tips or advice. This past month Carolyn Moore and Leslie Scott were elected to represent South Carolina at the USMS convention in conjunction with the United Sports Aquatic Sports in Jacksonville, Florida. We attended many committee meetings and got to meet and swim with delegates from all over the country.
Swimmer of the Month: Tiffany Ours
Tiffany is truly one of the most dedicated beginner swimmers ever. She started swimming Masters in North Carolina and really enjoyed it. So when she moved to Spartanburg to pursue her degree in music she looked for a Masters team. We are excited that she found Greenville Splash! Tiffany travels to Simpsonville for at least 5 workouts per week to work on her technique and endurance. She has attended all the stroke clinics and is wanting to learn as much as she can. She asks questions and tries hard to incorporate all the new advice into each workout. She either comes early or stays late to work a little longer on a new tip or perfecting that flip turn. She has accomplished so much in a one month, we can hardly wait to see her progress with more time. She obviously gets her swim workout ethic from all the years of practicing piano. Tiffany is studying to be a concert pianist at Converse College. It's fun to see her passion of swimming, piano, friendship and family intertwine.
