Wiggin Street Parent Update
October 8, 2021
Better Together
As evidenced in the video above, our students have great character and are "Rooted in Respect". Students in each lunch period celebrated students that were pulled out of the jar of Character Cards with a cheer. Thanks to Ms. Waugh for being a great Cheerleader!
This was Homecoming Spirit Week, and the kids enjoyed showing their spirit with tie-dye, jerseys, and some even pulled out their orange and black for picture day today.
Hope you enjoy this update with lots of fun pictures from our week and artwork. Also, there are lots of happenings in October at Wiggin Street, so make sure to mark your calendars!
Have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Christy

Thrive Kids Update
Thrive Kids with Coach Hannah
When we decide to do something hard or are working towards a goal, we often run into obstacles. At Thrive Kids, we want to teach youth to be ready for these obstacles and to have a plan to overcome them. This week’s mindset focus was helping the students to come up with a plan for what to do when an obstacle got in their way. Then, we practiced it by doing a fun, high-speed partner workout that raised their heart rate and got them moving!
Weekly Before School Movement Activity
10 jumps 1 foot
20 jumps 2 feet
30 jumping jacks
40 high knees
*Say: I can do hard things!*
See you Thursday, October 14th, at 8:15am!

Pumpkins on Parade
Fall Harvest Parade and Parties
Costumes should come to school in a bag and children should be able to get in and out of their costumes easily. (If you feel your child needs help with his/her costume, please contact the classroom teacher.) Please make sure that there are no scary costumes because of our younger students. There should be no Halloween masks, but protective masks due to the Pandemic are optional, since students will be outside. No pretend weapons of any kind are permitted at school even as a part of the costume. Please save those for trick-or-treat night.
We ask parents not to pass out treats along the route. Any treats brought to school for the class parties must be individually wrapped.
