We understand how important it is for families to have an active role in education. We hope this page provides you with information you can use to help support your student(s). If you have questions about any of the information on this page, contact your child's ESL teacher.
Translation and Interpretation
If you would like to receive communication (forms, documents, etc.) from your child's school translated to a language other than English, contact your school's office secretary.
If you would like to review any school-related documents, and require translation services, contact your school's office secretary to schedule an appointment for in-person interpretation.

Rycor and MySchoolBucks
Rycor is an online form and payment system used by YCSD. Annual forms, such as the Acceptable Use Policy, are found on Rycor. Click here to log in to Rycor.
MySchoolBucks
MySchoolBucks is an online payment service that allows parents to add money to and check on student cafeteria purchases.

FEV Tutor
FEV Tutor also has a language-translation tool available to students who wish to receive instruction in different languages.

FEV Tutor Family Informational Webinar
FEV Tutor Academic Specialist, Britani Kerns, a former educator, will present a live demo of the FEV Tutor platform and answer questions from parents and guardians regarding FEV Tutoring. Two webinar dates are being offered and both will contain the same information. Each webinar is approximately one hour in length. These webinars will be recorded and available on the YCSD FEV Tutor website.

Adult Education
York County School Division - English for Speakers of Other Languages
The York County School Division is now part of the Peninsula Regional Education Program.
The Peninsula Regional Education Program offers instruction for adult learners in basic skills, GED Certification, English skills acquisition, and workforce training to effectively prepare individuals for college, careers, and citizenship.
York County School Division's Adult Education offers GED and ESL Classes. These classes will be offered in-person and/or online for the 2022-2023 school year.

Literacy for Life
(for adults in the Bruton High, Queens Lake Middle, Magruder/Waller Mill Elementary zone)
Literacy for life provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring for adults in reading, writing and math skills as well as instruction in English for speakers of other languages. The program also supports learners pursuing high school completion through the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
English Learner Program Common Forms
- Sent out every year
- Beginning of school year (or upon student arrival)
- Lets you know your student’s language level
- Lets you know your student is in the program
- Sent out every semester
- Beginning and middle of school year (or upon student arrival)
- Lets you know your student’s scores on the ACCESS Test or WIDA Screener
- Shows accommodations students will receive in classroom
- Shows student language goals
YCSD Test Names and Information
Students take a variety of tests during the school year. The results from these tests provide teachers with data to best inform their instruction.
