A Message from Principal Evans
Dear Bethune Families,
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for yet another fantastic week at Bethune Elementary School. Your ongoing support and dedication to our school community truly make a difference, and we are thrilled to have you as part of the Bethune family. This week we celebrated the BEST counselor Ms. Sherman for National Counselor Appreciation Week.
This week marked the kickoff of our Hour of Power (HOP) initiative with our 3rd-5th graders. HOP is an intentional intervention block of time dedicated to addressing your student's learning gaps by the standard. The focus this week was on English Language Arts (ELA), and we are already seeing positive engagement and progress. Next week, we will shift our focus to math, ensuring a well-rounded approach to your student's academic success.
We are excited to invite all Bethune ES Families to join us for a night of fun on February 15th from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. We will be celebrating Mardi Gras and diving into curriculum-focused activities. It promises to be an enjoyable evening filled with laughter, learning, and, of course, free food for all families in attendance.
Additionally, we have a Spirit Week planned for next week. Please refer to the attached flyer for details on the exciting themes and activities. We encourage all students and staff to participate and showcase their Bethune spirit throughout the week.
Are you interested in becoming a Lunch Buddy Reader for your student's class? We are spreading the love of literacy all month long and invite you to join us in this meaningful initiative. Please use the link below to sign up and be part of the joy of reading with our students.
Once again, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to celebrating together at our upcoming events. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our school office.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
BESt,
Principal Evans
