Homestead Youth

Wednesdays are for Youth! As a reminder, we meet on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. During youth group, we have leader check-ins, games, worship, and hear an encouraging message. Bring a friend and bring your Bible! The snack bar is open after service; students can purchase pop, candy, and other snacks. Everything is $2.

We are SO excited for Minnesota Youth Convention! There's still time to sign up; we have a few scholarships available! If you want your student to attend but need a scholarship, please get in touch with us ASAP.

What is Minnesota Youth Convention?! MYC is a youth convention in Rochester, MN, where all Minnesota students get together for a weekend to grow, worship, and be challenged in their walk with Jesus! This year, MYC is October 19-21st. The cost is $215, including transportation, a two-night hotel stay, convention costs, and a few meals (minus two meals, which students should bring extra spending money to cover). The convention is a huge outreach event, and students are encouraged to invite kids who are "unchurched" or don't belong to a church or youth group. If an " unchurched " student joins us, that student will receive a discount of $55. We believe this will be our biggest year for outreach!

It's October, which means Speed the Light time! Our students have made a goal to raise $100,000 for Speed the Light this year. Next week, students will create personal goals for the fall. On November 15th, students will bring in all the money they earned for STL, and we will have a big party to celebrate! We have BIG NEWS! A very generous donor has given $25,000 to MATCH what the students give this year! This match is AMAZING!! We were so in awe of the $73,000 students raised last year and cannot wait to see what God does this year!

We will do a local mission trip to Tree Top Kids in Minnesota this summer! This trip will be open to sixth grade and up. The cost will be $300. Please watch for more information in the coming weeks!

We will have Breakfast Club on Saturday, November 4th, from 10-11:30 am. During Breakfast Club, we will do a little devotional time and enjoy some yummy breakfast together. If your student can contribute $5 (per kid) for breakfast, that would help us offset the cost. If not, no worries!

Karlee Graham, our worship pastor, will lead students in Fine Arts this year. The Fine Arts categories are: vocal, worship team, choir, short sermon, writing, photography, graphic design, etc. If your student is interested in Fine Arts, Karlee will have a meeting for parents and students on Wednesday, October 18th, from 8:30-8:50 pm after youth group. We're looking for help running security and snack bar at Homestead Youth. These positions are not time-consuming but help ensure safety at youth group. If you'd like to do this, please reach out to us! Thanks!
