Curtis Chronicles
August 16, 2021
Welcome from Curtis Principal, Sonya Pitcock
Cougar families,
We are so proud of the great start your students made to this school year! We saw students helping each other navigate the halls, we saw students inviting students to sit with them at lunch and we saw students start building relationships with their peers in their classes. We are excited to keep that momentum going this week and throughout the year!
Tracks classes update:
Welcome to a New Year in Curtis Tracks! Tracks’ mission is to support our CMS Students' academic, social emotional, and future readiness growth. The Tracks team will begin the school year with activities and lessons designed to build both classroom and school community relationships. Students will be introduced to technology and organizational tools to set them on the path for a successful school year.
Student ID badges:
Please help your students develop a system for keeping their ID badge where they can have it each day for school. Many students put it in their backpack when they get home from school so they don’t have to remember where they left it. IDs are required daily for all students.
Traffic update:
Thank you for your patience as we get our traffic patterns worked out. We know the afternoons are quite congested and if you’ll remind your students to come out to the car as soon as they can so we can keep traffic moving, that will help. The front drive is for bus pick up and drop off only. Please do not cut through the front parking lot to avoid the traffic as we have student loading buses and their bus loading signs are on, requiring cars to stop. Thank you for your support!
