Message from Administration
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will be participating in the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) for both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
MCAP Assessments are designed for online administration and are given in 40-70 minutes sections. Students take four sections per content area.
The test is designed to allow students to use the same computer-based tools that are used during instruction. Students with special needs will receive the same accommodations for MCAP that they do for their regular instruction.

MAP Home Report Available Now
Home report PDFs for the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Winter testing are now available in HCPSS Connect. The assessment was given to students in grades 1-5 in reading and mathematics. Reports can be viewed/downloaded by Parents/guardians by taking the following steps:
- Log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy
- Select More Options from the left panel
- Select Report Cards from the menu
- Near the top of the page, select MAP_2023_Winter

Lisbon’s Indicators of Educational Equity Survey
As part of our school improvement process, we are asking families to provide input about their equity priorities at our school. We will use your input, along with other school data, to refine our school improvement plan for next year.

Maryland Special Education Parent Survey- Due MAY 19th
If you are the parent or guardian of a child receiving special education services in Maryland, you should have received a copy of the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey in the mail. By completing the survey, you can tell us how your child’s school partners with you. Your feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in your local school system. Please complete this confidential survey by May 19th:

Kindergarten & 1st grade parents---please check your student's backpacks for outstanding health forms that need to be completed. Please have them completed as soon as possible and return them to the Health room.
Planning a Trip?
If your student will be absent for 3 or more days, please fill out the Extended Absence/Discretionary Absence form (see below) and return it to the front office.

Want to be on the May Madness Committee? Information will be coming home next week about tickets and volunteers. Check out the PTA bulletin board during STEM Night. PTA Executive Committee members will be available to answer questions.
March 19th - Lisbon Cub Scout Pack 827 Scouting for Food Collection at Lisbon Park
Lisbon’s Cub Scout Pack 827 will be collecting food and items at Lisbon Park on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for the Morgan Chapel Food and Pet Pantry in Woodbine.
Items most in need are:
* Pet foods and items
* Baby needs
* Senior needs
*Non-perishable and canned foods
The Food Pantry is open on the second and fourth Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The Pet Pantry is open the same times on the second Saturday of each month at 6750 Woodbine (94) Road in Woodbine.
Scouting for Food is a BSA program that supports food pantries around the Nation. Last year Pack 827 collected over 400 lbs. and the National Pike redistrict collected over 13,000lbs. Our scouts could not do this without your support.

Lisbon Elementary School PTA
Support your ROARsome LES teachers, staff, and students. PTA supports teacher reimbursements, staff appreciation, 5th grade celebration, and classroom needs.
Lisbon PTA hosts fun family events and activities through the school year including many free to attend.
Volunteering is not a requirement with membership; however, we would love to have you!
PTA memberships are important to not only support our PTA incentives but to give families a voice and a vote. Voting is permitted by members on PTA business membership is not required to attend meetings.
