Please note that these applications are due to the School Counseling Office by February 23rd at 3 PM!

The School Counseling staff will be offering an informational College Credit Plus (CCP) meeting on January 17th at 5:30 pm in the PAC. This meeting will provide an overview of the program, how to apply and the deadlines. Representatives from local universities will be in attendance to provide college-specific information. This meeting typically lasts one hour. Please contact your child's school counselor with any questions!

Any student/family planning to participate in CCP classes for 2023-24 should plan to attend.

Butler Tech

The application process for Butler Tech programs is underway! Current Sophomores are able to apply to a program at Butler Tech by visiting this website:

This is also the link that current Freshman are able to use to apply for the 10th Grade Academy.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JANUARY 31st. Please make a plan to complete this process before this date in case any issues arise.

Yearbook

Use the access code talawanda2023 to submit your pictures today! Please submit pictures in portrait format, with a filesize greater than 1MB, and make sure your student follows the student code of conduct for the portrait (no guns, drugs, etc in the image).

Club News

Mock Trial will hold a Battle of Talawanda on January 16th from 3:00-7:00pm in the THS Media Center. Practices on Tuesday, January 17th and Thursday, January 19th from 5:30-7:30 pm in room 417.

The THS Robotics Club will meet Friday, January 13th.

We will practice and prepare for the First Tech Robotics League Competition held at Miami University on Saturday, January 14th starting at 8:00 am.

Any student interested in seeing what the robotics club is like, please join us after school this Friday!

Mock Trial

Congratulations to THS's Mock Trial teams for their recent outstanding performance at the University of Cincinnati.

THS Team On the Docket took second place

Shr-Shiang Moore won Outstanding Witness and Outstanding Attorney

Kate Bolenbaugh won Outstanding Witness

THS Team Plead the Fifth had two students, Shr-Lin Moore and Jared Sims win Outstanding Witness Awards.

Pictured below are the award winners and both teams. THS Mock will next compete at Districts at the Butler County Courthouse on 1/27.

THS Swimming and Diving

The girls team defeated both Hamilton and Ross, while the boys defeated Hamilton but fell to Ross. The girls were led by Kaylyn Macechko who won both the 200 Free and 100 Fly. The boys were led by Adam Hunt who won the 200 Free and Evan Zhou who won the 500 Free.

The Brave took part in the Bethel Bees Invitational. Out of 8 teams both the boys and girls teams finished in first! The girls were led by Abbie Curry who placed first in the 50 Free and 500 Free. The boys were led by Stephen Mullally, Jonah Femiani, Adam Hunt, and Noah Femiani, who combined to win both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay.

The teams will return to the water this Saturday and Sunday as they take part in the Southwest Ohio High School Classic - the largest swim meet in the country!
