Hello PLES!
It was a busy week at PLES celebrating Kindness Week, Valentine’s Day, and the 100th Day of School! We loved seeing all the random acts of kindness in the building. We have some wonderful bucket fillers at Penn London!
Thank you Mr. Stanley and Mr. Woodin for being our Watch D.O.G.S. today!
Youth Art Month is coming! All students should have brought home a green paper explaining our schoolwide art project: The Incredible, Invincible, Iconic Iguana. We hope you enjoy this fun family activity together! All iguanas are due back at school by March 1, 2023.
Please see the attached flyer for an art contest sponsored by our substitute service, ESS as well as the attached flyer for the middle school's performance of Beauty and the Beast.
Please help us keep our library books in good condition and available for students by checking your student’s library book for any damage and making our library team aware.
Mark your calendars: there is no school on Monday, February 20th.
Have a great weekend!

Learning Spotlight
This week students at PLES celebrated kindness week! Aside from wearing fun attire, students in Ms. Kavanagh’s second grade class talked about what it means to be kind. Students came up with different ways that we can be kind at school, at home, within our community, and most importantly towards one another. To conclude kindness week, students were asked to demonstrate an act of kindness. Each student in Ms. Kavanagh’s class was asked to pick one adult at PLES (principals, previous teachers, paras, encore teachers, etc). Students wrote a kindness card to deliver on Friday, February 17th for their act of kindness!
PBIS and Bucket Filling
This week we reviewed our matrixes for recess and the cafeteria with an emphasis on how important it is to keep our hands to ourselves. Students earned so many bucket bucks for meeting our expectations!
PTA Update
The PLES PTA 5th annual Multicultural Night will take place at PLES on Friday, March 10, 2023, 6-8pm. Come explore world cultures through games, activities, and make-and-take crafts. The event is free and families and siblings are all welcome to join the fun. If you've been before, you won't want to miss the new cultures and activities we're rolling out this year! You can also visit the book fair during the event! Don't forget to send in fun stories, recipes or family traditions you want to share to help fill our book for Multicultural Night. Families will be able to take a free copy home from the event. The flyer went home last week, but you can submit them via email to multiculturalnight@plepta.org as well. Watch this video for a preview of the event!
