Educators are increasingly expected to exhibit skills and knowledge of using technology to enhance student learning. The UEN Educational Technology Endorsement Program is grounded in the USBE EdTech Competencies and the Utah Effective Teaching Standards. The Competency-Based Educational Technology Endorsement is divided into four courses. Participants will come away with a portfolio of work that aligns with each competency.

UEN at Davis School District Jr. Microsoft Showcase
Sr. Technical Trainer Kayla Towner joined Davis School District for their Jr. Microsoft Showcase last Friday. Students from Kay's Creek Elementary shared their learning in poster sessions. Check out their amazing work in the photo to the left.
UEN at Utah Instructure User Event
Last week Sr. Technical Trainer Matthew Winters attended and presented at the Utah Instructure User Event. Dozens of educators from around Utah joined the event to learn how to use Canvas, MasteryConnect, and more.

This event will take place at Fort Lewis College in beautiful Durango, CO. Due to generous funding from Google and support from CSTA, registration, transportation, lodging, and meals are covered for those who qualify.

Utah Rural Schools Association Conference - July 12th-14th
The conference provides hands-on and breakout sessions focusing on insights and interventions with strategies to provide professional learning to improve student outcomes. Sessions will focus on strengthening mental and behavioral health supports, student supports, grading practices, literacy best practices, strengthening the guaranteed curriculum at each school and developing a culture of investment.
Show Up for Teachers - July 19th
Join First Lady of Utah Abby Cox for Show Up for Teachers. This free conference at the Mountain West American Expo Center includes keynotes from Harvard Professor Arthur Brooks and Ron Clark Academy teacher Michael Bonner.
Smithsonian National Education Summit - July 18th-20th
Mark your calendars for the 2023 Smithsonian National Education Summit: "Together We Thrive," on July 18-20. This hybrid event includes in-person workshops in Washington D.C. and free virtual sessions.
