Gear Up for Autumn Keystone!
October 26th, 2023
It is so hard to believe, but we have completed our first grading period! We are excited for this Wednesday's Family First Night, on November 1. The purpose of this evening is to focus on spending quality time with our loved ones. Find new ideas and activities to do as a family @ 100+ Activities for Your Family.
In upcoming events, we have conferences at all three buildings. Signing up online is easy and can be completed using the links provided below. If you are unable to attend conferences or if the available time slots do not work with your schedule, please contact your child's teacher via email or phone to set up a time to discuss your child's progress and development thus far this year.
Congrats KES P.R.I.D.E Winners
Great job to our Keystone Elementary students who earned recognition for fulfilling the values of Keystone!
Preschool Update
Total expenditures for preschool to Keystone continue to rise, but the cost per session has decreased by 50% over the past two years. The district will continue to monitor the expenditures and look for more efficient options to educate our students.

SOS Prevention Program
The Ohio Legislature, per House Bill 123, requires schools to provide education on suicide and suicide prevention.
KHS is using a national evidenced-based program called SOS Signs of Suicide. Throughout the program, which will be presented on Oct 30 and 31, students will learn how to identify signs of depression as well as suicidal thoughts or tendencies in themselves or in a friend. They will also learn about the ACT model: Acknowledge, Care and Tell a Trusted Adult.
To view key information our students will receive within the SOS program, please visit www.sossignsofsuicide.org.
KHS Parents: If you do NOT want your child to participate in this program and screening, please contact Assistant Principal john.brown@keystoneschools.org.
School Fees
Your child's PowerSchool account has a list of his/her fees. As a reminder, students who do not have fees paid will not be able to attend school field trips until they are paid. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's school office.
Ways to Pay:
- At Your Student's Respective School Office
- Send Checks or Cash in with Your Student
- Online @ https://www.payforit.net/login.aspx
Parent Mentor Program
The Lorain County Educational Service Center publishes monthly Parent Mentor Newsletters. One of the highlights of this week addresses students' organizational strategies. Check out their suggestions below, or view the entire newsletter @ Parent Mentor October 2023 Newsletter.
If you wonder why your student is disorganized and can’t remember to turn their homework in, it may have to do with their executive functions.
