The School Board voted on and passed these eligibility guidelines for students participating in school activities remainder of this school year. Feel free to reach out to me or to our Activity Coordinator, Wayne Sawchuk, with any questions on eligibility.
General: GPA requirements have been waived for the 2020-2021 academic year; however, the following guidelines around grades and credits earned for students participating in high school activities have been modified as follows:
-
Students are not eligible for travel if they have an F, INC, and/or NG in any class.
Principals have the ability to submit an eligibility waiver to ASAA if they wish to deem a player eligible due to the complexities of this school year.

-
Seniors who are on track to graduate must take at least 4 semester units of credit or the equivalent to be eligible. Other seniors must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 semester units of credit or the equivalent to be eligible. (August - December and January - May)

School Board Decision on Yellow Zone In-Person Plan
- At the October 6 meeting, the School Board voted to begin in-person school in a 50% cohort model at all our high schools when we are in the Yellow Operational Zone.
Here is a summary of that learning model (sample schedule below):
Option 1: All in-person/blended students will attend school two days per week, and learn independently the other three days. In this option students would attend school two times a week in A/B cohorts, which makes up approximately 50% of our students enrolled in the blended/remote learning option. Students in the A cohort would come to school on Monday and Thursday, while the B cohort would come to school on Tuesday and Friday. Students will be expected to work independently on days they are not attending school. - We are currently in the Red Zone and will continue to operate under our remote schedule. You can view the current Operational Risk Zone and the Average Case Rate Matrix on the district website.
- There is a wealth of information in Dr. Gaborik's Oct. 8th newsletter and I encourage you to take some time to read through it.
