Chester Elementary School

Greetings to all of you. I'd like to thank those of you that reached out to me this week, as well as those who participated in the parent meeting in the CES gym. The input has made a difference and I learned much regarding insights on campus safety that will help guide staff decisions about safety protocols and procedures on our campus. Know that we are making some immediate changes on campus that include:

• Separate primary and upper-grade PM recesses starting next week.
• Several of us met today to hammer out additional schedule changes for lunch times that will result in staff grade-level assignments for supervision and fewer students in the cafeteria and out at lunch recess time in the primary grades.
• Staff assignments that will ensure closer monitoring of all students during recess times.
• Revisiting supervision expectations to ensure that all staff are clear on rules and expectations.
• These will be finalized this next week and will result in an all-staff meeting for communication of the changes.
  
• Regularly scheduled meetings for supervision staff so that updates and training can take place.

• Nurse/LVN (full time, Chester/Greenville)
• English Learner aide (2 hrs./day)
• Paraeducator/Transportation Driver (7.5 hrs./day)
