Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Drop Off: Center parking lot-drop off lane
Please use our “Student Drop Off” (center parking lot) when dropping students off. You may drop off at the lower loop (closer to the school) ONLY after the buses have left. Parents, please stay in your car during drop off. If you need to get out of your car for any reason, you must park your car in a designated parking spot. Please do not park at the curb (close to the school) and get out of your car. We also ask that you do not drop off your student on the upper driveway next to the hill.
**Please do not line up for drop off before 7:40am. This causes issues for bus access and staff parking. If you arrive before 7:40am, you will be asked to move.**
If you are walking/biking: parents need to say goodbye at the bike racks. For safety, we need only students and staff on school grounds during drop off. **Please note that parents don’t generally walk their children to class. If you need to go into the building or classroom for any reason, you MUST sign in/out in the front office and wear a visitor badge.
Morning Time Line at Deer Creek:
7:45am – Students can enter the building, get breakfast, and go directly to class
8:00am – Instruction starts – Any students arriving at 8:00am or later are tardy and need to check in with the front office before going to class.

Pick Up:
* If you are picking up a kindergartner or 1st grader, you will pull through the center parking lot. Students are loaded into cars starting at the crosswalk. If you have a kindergartner or 1st grader AND an older child, they will both get picked up at this location.
* If you are picking up a 2nd - 5th grader, you will pull through the outer loop which runs by the front of the school. Students will be loaded into cars starting near the bike racks and covered play area.
Parents, please stay in your car during pick up. If you need to get out of your car for any reason, including helping your child get into the car or fastening their seat belt, please park your car in a designated parking spot. This system is designed to be a quick drive through.
**Kinder and 1st grade family cars may begin entering the parking lot at 2:10pm. (Kindergarten and 1st grade dismiss at 2:15pm)
**2nd-5th grade family cars may begin entering the parking lot at 2:15pm. (2nd-5th grade dismiss at 2:20pm)
Arriving before these pick-up times causes heavy area congestion (in most cases, area gridlock) causing various safety concerns. Entering a line that is beginning to move is better than entering a line that won’t be moving for 30+ minutes. We typically have ALL of our children loaded into cars and buses by 2:30pm so there’s no need to enter the parking lot prior to 2:10pm.
If you are walking to pick up your child, please wait at the bike racks at either end of the school. Your child’s teacher or a staff member will bring your child to you.
We cannot accept/honor changes in student transportation plans after 1:45pm.
If we all do our part and follow these drop off and pick up procedures the process will go smoothly and safely.

Volunteer Information
Volunteer process:
We are very fortunate to have wonderful community members and families who want to be part of our students' education by volunteering! With that comes the responsibility of making sure our schools and students are safe at all times.
Anyone seeking to be a volunteer for our schools and or buildings needs to be background checked and offered the vector training. If a community member and or parent wants to volunteer, they have to go through the volunteer process and be cleared before doing so.
Volunteers and after school events:
The volunteer process must be followed if the person will be interacting with our students. Whether the volunteering will take place during school or after school, the parent/community member must undergo the volunteer requirements as outlined on our website. This includes all school and or PTO/PSO sponsored events.
We are very busy with background checks for new hires and volunteers. Please get your volunteer applications submitted sooner than later so you are approved for activities throughout the year. Volunteer applications are good for 3 years, this includes the background check and the training.
Covid Vaccine Cards are no longer required!
