Tiger Nation News
Mar 25-28
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
On behalf of the entire Ringgold High School community, we are excited to welcome you back for the 2024-2025 school year! Whether you're a returning Tiger or a brand new face to the Blue Nation, we're thrilled to have you.
Summer has brought some rest and relaxation, but the anticipation for a new year is in the air. Our dedicated faculty and staff have worked hard to prepare for a great school year.
Respect, Honesty, and Service: These core values, will continue to guide us as we begin the new year. We believe these values are the foundation for a successful school community, and we encourage everyone – students, staff, and parents – to embrace them in all that we do.
We are thankful for the important role parents and the community play in our students' success. By working together, with open communication and a shared commitment to our core values, we can create an exceptional learning environment where every Tiger can succeed.
From spirited pep rallies to the crisp autumn air at our homecoming celebration, fall at Ringgold is a truly special time. We can't wait to share these lasting memories with you.
We look forward to seeing you all!
Go Tigers,

🍎 Welcome back to school, Tigers! 🍎
NEW HOURS For The 2024-25 School Year!
We start the new two-tiered schedule this school year, which means Ringgold High School will begin at 8:15 a.m. This is a county-wide school schedule change that was implemented to improve ongoing transportation issues.
At the end of the 23/24 school year, Catoosa County parents were polled to get an idea of how that would impact their schedule. 90.6% of the feedback being in favor of the two-tiered schedule.
1st Tier: Elementary Schools (Primary / Elementary): 7:50 am- 2:20/2:30 pm
2nd Tier: Secondary Schools (Middle and High): 8:15 am- 3:30 pm
CCPS also plans to implement:
- New and improved GPS and routing software
- New parent/student bus notifications app (transition will occur during the fall semester of 2024)
- Optimized and consolidated bus routes
- Improved school dismissal loading times with fewer bus callbacks
Counselors Urge Students to Fill out FAFSA this month!
There was a National decline in students completing the FAFSA to attend college this fall. Counselors say they want to continue to offer support to our community. The Dalton State College deadline for Fall is August 19, and many colleges have similar deadlines. Let's set up our tigers for success!
Counselors are opening up some times for students to get help filling out the FAFSA.
- July 15 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- July 16 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- July 17 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- July 19 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- July 23 3 - 6 p.m.
- July 25 3 - 6 p.m.
- July 30 3 - 6 p.m.
- August 2 3 - 6 p.m.
- August 6 3 - 6 p.m.

Anyone can stop in. They do not have to be a RHS graduate. The Counseling team is encouraging everyone to share this info on your socials, with your friends, and with your neighbors.
AP Students Surpassing Expectations 📝
RHS saw an incredible increase in AP Exam scores in the tests taken last year.
The goal was to see the number of AP test scores of 3+ increase from 25 to 29, but students far exceeded that. In fact, 92 students earned a score of 3 or higher!
The number of our AP scores 3 or higher saw almost a 300% growth from last year.
Why is this significant? Your AP score could earn you college credits before you even set foot on a college campus. In fact, according to the AP Program website, most AP students who enroll in four-year colleges start school with some credit. That saves money and time for a brighter future.
RHS Performing Arts
Headed to the Tony Awards??
Well, okay... maybe not YET. But our own Ivy O'Neal did get to sit in the audience at the Tony Awards this summer! It was a surprise to all the Jimmy Award participants this year in New York City.
By the way, although our amazing Peter Pan did not win at the national level this year, her RHSPA teachers say she is more focused and committed than ever!
Brayden Roach and Ellie Talley spent much of their summer at GHP
