Such a great day to be an EACS Eagle!
Dear EACS Parents,
October is well on its way! We have Parent/Teacher conferences this month. Therefore, we have more early release student days coming up. In addition, we have PLC Fridays. Thank you for your hard work to ensure that our students are getting where they need to be and on time.
Our Middle School day is from 8:10 am-2:45 pm. Our students will need the five minutes after class to prepare to go home. Please line up for student pick up at 2:40 pm. Students are called by name as staff has to be certain of which students get into vehicles for safety reasons.
Our Elementary School day s from 8:30 am-3:20 pm. Please begin the line up for student pick up at 3:10.
Should you need your child(ren) earlier, please feel free to come inside and sign them out for the day.
Thank you for all of your time, patience, and work. We are better together! I am so happy to be an Eagle!
Your Principal,
Lynn Mills

Attendance Matters
Every Day Matters!
A missed school day (whether excused or unexcused) is a lost opportunity for students to learn. Daily attendance makes a huge difference in student academic achievement.
October 3 - October 28 is the official 20 day Oasis count period. Attendance during this period determines our Average Daily Membership (.i.e student enrollment). This is the number the State of Alaska uses to determine our funding. We realize that some absences are unavoidable, however if at all possible, we encourage families to please try not to schedule optional/elective doctors appointments, vacations, or out of state travel during this period.
Why attendance Matters:
Great things are happening at Eagle Academy Charter School!
We are the luckiest staff here at EACS!
National Hispanic Heritage Month
SEPT 15 - OCT 15
According to the 2020 National Census, an estimated 18.7% of the American population identified as Hispanic/Latino. That is 62.1 million people, an increase from 50.5 million people in 2010, which equates to a huge 23% jump. The contributions of Americans of Hispanic and/or Latino heritage should be recognized and celebrated all year long—their history is our shared American history.

Inclement Weather
'Tis the Season
Temperatures will be starting to drop. We go outside (weather permitting, to 10 degrees below zero) for recess every day. Please, please, please start preparing to send your student(s) to school with appropriate winter outerwear. This means:
- warm coat
- winter hat
- mittens or gloves
- scarves
- snow pants
- boots
- Rain coat
- Rain Boots
It is always a good idea to mark your child’s name on all items. You would be surprised how many pairs of black snow pants we get!
