If your child is going to be absent or late to school, please call the attendance line at 732-431-4403, option #1. Leave a message with all the information requested on the message.
- Attendance is taken after the start of homeroom at 7:25am.
- If you have not called your child absent/late on the attendance line by 8:00am, you will receive an automated phone call reminding you to report the absence/tardy.
- If you have already reported the absence/tardy on the attendance line, please disregard the automated call.
- All absences must be followed up with a signed note from the parent/guardian/doctor's office. Students need to submit those notes to the main office, preferably upon arrival to school.
- Absences that are not followed up with a note are considered unexcused toward truancy.
- If you are unsure if your child has any unexcused absences, please check your Genesis Parent Portal under the "Letters" tab for a note to excused the absences that can be printed and returned to the main office.
We will be providing your child with a yellow copy of our district attendance note form to those students that currently have unexcused absences. Please be sure to return that form signed so that we can move those unexcused absences to excused.

In an effort to increase home-school communications and provide parents access to student assessment information, the district is making the Linkit Parent Portal open for families beginning the week of November 20. Families will receive an email that includes a registration code. This will prompt you to set up a parent portal account. Parents will be able to view MAP assessment results by subject area. If you have any questions about your child's MAP score, please reach out to the classroom teacher. If you experience difficulty navigating the portal, please contact Jackie Doyle, District Supervisor for Data, Assessment, and Intervention at jdoyle@freeholdtwp.k12.nj.us.
With several early closing days coming up, we wanted to review with you the procedure for students not getting on their busses. Any bus student that plans on walking home or is being picked up at the end of the day must adhere to the following procedure:
A written note from the parent/guardian must be provided authorizing the pick-up or walking. If someone other than the parent/guardian is coming for the student, the note must indicate the name of that person. Emails, phone calls or text messages will not be accepted as permission. It is encouraged that all notes/permission slips be submitted to the office prior to the end of first period. Parents can submit a note indicating that their child will walk home from school the entire year. These students will be treated as walkers (Entire Year Walkers) and will not be required to follow the above dismissal procedures.
Students that do not follow the above rules, for the safety and security of all students, will be addressed accordingly. All students will be required to exit the building from any of the front exits and cross at the cross walks only. There will be staff assigned to various locations in the front of the building to supervise the dismissal.

Things parents cannot change on the parent portal are:
Delete contacts
Add guardians
Change responses to any form that has already been submitted
