NEXT WEEK!
Color Days at The ELC!
We will be celebrating colors for the next two weeks here at school. We do lots of theme and dress up days, and they are ALWAYS optional and ALWAYS just for fun!! If your child has something in the color of the day, have them wear it 🙂
Bus Safety Week!
Bus Safety week begins 8/28.
We are excited to be spotlighting bus safety with our students the week of August 28th. This a fun week raising awareness for bus safety and teaching proper procedures to our students. We have planned bus safety lessons in library with SRO D and Ms. Fraze. We will be discussing how to approach and behave on the bus along with other important things to do while on the bus. We will also be enjoying “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus”! Your child will also be bringing home a bus safety coloring book for things you can talk about with your child at home as well.
i-Ready will begin this week!

FIRST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR!
Has your child ever wanted to go into a GAMETRUCK?!? We are starting the year off with an awesome opportunity for them to be able to here at school! This is an awesome fundraiser that helps us earn money for our school. We hope everyone will buy at least the 1 book they are sent home with. If you are not interested in participating, please just stick a little note on the coupon book that says "Not Interested" and leave it in their red folder to be returned to school the next day. Thanks parents!
SPIRIT WEAR!!!!!
Here at The ELC, and all over the SCOH district- we LOVE to celebrate Brickie Fridays and encourage the kids to wear their purple and gold every Friday with us! We will be sending home these order forms as soon as school starts so your Little Brickie can get some gear. The due date for this will be September 1st with no exceptions as we want to have the orders back to us before the big homecoming game.
Kindergarten & Coffee!
Once a month, our school counselor, Miss Hannah, and our skills development coordinator, Mrs. Monger, will host a meeting with parents to discuss all things Kindergarten! Sign-up below using the google form to let us know you can make it.
OH NO!!! YOUR LITTLE BRICKIE ISN'T FEELING WELL?
If your child isn't feeling well, please keep him or her at home. You must report the absence IN SKYWARD before 10:00AM. There is no need to call the school to let us know. If there are any questions about the absence, we will reach out to you.
Our SRO, Officer D is celebrating his first full year of Kindergarten at The ELC this year too. If you ever need to reach him- all of his contact info is listed here.
LOST & FOUND!
And so it begins!! Our lost and found already has items collecting! We will post pictures of our lost and found periodically here on Facebook and in our weekly newsletters. If you see something that is your child’s, or know your child is missing something- please reach out to SRO D. Please do not comment here on Facebook if you see something that is your childs. His contact info is pictured here as well. Thanks!!
And remember- a GREAT way to keep your child's items out of lost & found jail is to LABEL EVERYTHING! If it is labeled, we can easily get it back to your child!
