We will not have school on Wednesday - Friday next week in order to celebrate Thanksgiving. There will not be a Community Nest next week.

OUR students collected Coins for a Cause for a specific charity chosen by their grade level! Overall, students brought in $1,969.32 for the following charities:

Kindergarten - Ronald McDonald House - $200

1st Grade - Children's Mercy Hospital - $267.13

2nd Grade - The Well-Center for Hope - $200

3rd Grade - Leavenworth County Humane Society - $200

4th Grade - Joy Meadows - $200

5th Grade - Basehor-Linwood Education Foundation - $902.19!

Great job to all students, parents and teachers who raised a great deal of funds for charities that are meaningful to them!

HUNGRY, HUNGRY HAWKS was a HIT on Thursday evening! Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make it such a HUGE success! The pumpkin auction was a HIT, everyone had a blast playing BINGO, and there were lots of smiles and laughs throughout the night.

Congratulations to Mrs. Dinkel for winning the coveted Golden Bowl Award for FIRST PLACE in the chili cook off. Second Place went to Mr. Bartels and third was awarded to Mrs. Rieschick. Thank you for cooking some great chili and making some even better memories.

Thank you so much for everyone that has given so generously to support our BLAS Food Drive. We are getting close to OUR goal but are falling just a bit short so we are going to extend the date to Tuesday, November 22.

As an incentive, anyone bringing in a food donation on Tuesday can wear PJs to school that day. (Can't go wrong with another PJ Day can you?) :)

Always a great reminder of the role gratitude plays in our happiness. Gratitude is a definite "brain changer"!

Check out The State of Mental Health in America 2023 report. Kansas ranks 51/51 in accessing mental health resources. We need to be advocating for better mental health coverage through insurance, examining school-based mental health supports, and encouraging folks to enter the mental health field.
