Hello McPherson Families,
I had a great day on skates last Wednesday! It was fun to roll around the school and I appreciate everyone who participated in our fundraiser to meet our school goal! We also had a fantastic Trunk or Treat event on Friday. Thank you to all of our volunteers who made the event such a success! On Tuesday, 10/31, students may wear a school appropriate Halloween costume or fall colors free dress.

Middle school concert band and drum line classes are now available for registration! Middle school classes start next week.
The winter session of classes will be starting in January/February. Popular classes will be repeated if possible.

McPherson would like to thank all Veterans that have served our country, past and present. In acknowledgement of Veterans’ Day, McPherson will have a special all-school flag ceremony to honor those who have served our country. We would like to invite all Veterans or spouses of Veterans to attend our ceremony at 8:00am on Thursday, November 9th. Our McPherson Scout troops will be helping us honor our Veterans.
Also, please post a picture of the veterans in your family on our McPherson Veteran's Day padlet so we can honor all of our veterans. The padlet will be shared with classes fir Veteran's Day.

Attendance Matters.
McPherson students have started off strong by coming to school on time. We encourage families to arrive early so that all students can be in class for the start of the day. It is disruptive to classes if students arrive late to school as learning has already begun in class. Our teachers work diligently to provide enriching learning for all students. Please arrive on time.
As our weather cools down, please be aware of our uniform policy for jackets. All sweatshirts must have a McPherson LOGO from Kustom Imprints or PLAIN SOLID navy blue or gray with no other logos. Sweatshirts and sweaters must be crew neck - NO HOODS allowed on sweatshirts. Sweatshirts/sweaters may NOT have a logo other than McPherson. Sweatshirts must be size-appropriate. Middle School PE sweatshirts may only be worn during PE instruction. All jackets must have a McPherson LOGO or be PLAIN SOLID navy blue or gray with no other logos. Other raincoats, heavy jackets, and headwear are for cold/rainy weather and may ONLY be worn outside. No LOGOS.

Universal Screening
All 3rd-grade students are tested in their classrooms unless parents "opt out "of testing.
OUSD 3rd grade students: May Opt Out and the Opt Out Form is attached.
Students will be tested between 1/30/23 and 3/3/23.
All OUSD 2nd and 4th-6th graders are eligible for GATE testing. Parents, teachers & staff may refer students by January 10th, 2024. See attachments for more details.
VPHS DANCE PROGRAM - 2024 ANNUAL SPARTAN MINI DANCER CLINIC

OUR SPARTAN MINI DANCER CLINIC: (Sunday, January 14 th ) is open to grades K-8th.
Cost : $50.00 (includes VPHS Dance T-Shirt, treat, and free admission to the basketball game for the
participant.) Parents/Guardians, siblings, etc. will have to purchase a ticket for the game.
