Asian Culture Club
"Hi Falcons, we want to let you know that there is a student group called the Asian Culture Club here at Coon Rapids Middle School. Our first official meeting will be Thursday, October 27th at 3:10pm-5pm in room #201. The mission of the organization is to support API cultural awareness in the community. Although we focus on students that identify as Asian, we encourage a diverse membership of all students in order to promote a safe and inviting space for all to learn about Asian culture. Email or visit with Mr. Gross or email Noah Vue at nvue@youthfirst.net to learn more about the organization. We hope to see you there!"
Indigenous Peoples' Day
Monday, October 10th is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Indigenous Peoples' Day recognizes and honors the past, present and futures of Native Americans. There are over 600 Native Nations in the United States, each with their own rich traditions and sovereignty. Despite this, Native Nations and Indigenous cultures lack proper representation.
By celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day we are standing in solidarity with Indigenous People and rejecting the romanticized story of Christopher Columbus. This means we acknowledge there were many wrongs committed against Native Nations during first contact and for many centuries after. We also acknowledge Indigenous People are the First Nations of our country, and that Native People are still here today.

Truancy Laws
