TEA announced today that they are releasing grant funds in order to provide funding support for Targeted Support Campuses. This is new grant funding for campuses with this designation.
Districts that have a Targeted Support campus should have received an email today outlining more information. Join us for a Zoom meeting to discuss this information and provide guidance and clarification on Tuesday, April 7 from 9:00-11:00.
Please register on ESCWorks to attend the Zoom. https://txr17.escworks.net/catalog/session.aspx?session_id=696555
- A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants.
- This new grant information will be shared first in case those campuses do not need the other information.
The grant opportunity will open on Monday, April 6.
This grant is designed to provide supplemental resources to LEAs to support improved student outcomes on Title 1 targeted support and improvement campuses.
- Purpose: Increase the capacity of LEAs to facilitate instructional continuity and distance, remote, and/or virtual learning for campuses that have been affected by campus closures due to COVID-19.
- LEAs apply on behalf of their targeted support and improvement schools

Yes. TEA is postponing the due date for assigned 2019 Discipline Data Validation compliance reviews until all LEAs are able to return to campuses and access relevant files to fulfill documentation submission requirements. LEAs that have already submitted should expect to begin review with Data Reporting Compliance Unit (DRCU) staff at that time. DRCU will issue a “To the Administrator Addressed” letter with additional instructions when new due dates can be determined.

Announcing Dates for Back to School Conference!
The Region 17 Back-to-School Conference is open for registration! We have changed the structure a bit to better serve our teachers and leaders by creating a one-day event geared to gear up your team. We will be repeating the same day to serve more of our schools, both through session options, seating, and even parking! We now can serve up to 800 participants each day. We hope that your district can benefit from one of these options, so choose the day you would like to have your team attend:
One-Day Back-to-School Conference on August 10th:

If you would like to have access to Group Registration, you will need to email a contact name to Lora Villanueva, loravillanueva@esc17.net . Lora will then give them access to group registration. Lora will not actually register your group, her role is to give access to whomever you chose to do so.
