CALVIN PARK UPDATE
Week of June 21-25, 2021
It is the final week of a challenging year and we have a lot to celebrate! We are proud of our students for their hard work and resilience! We are thankful for our staff for committing to supporting students in every way possible this year. We are grateful to families for persevering and providing support to your child throughout the year, but especially during the periods of learning at home. We believe that through all of these challenges, we have come out stronger by working together.
This week will be busy with Graduation as well as Chromebook return and pick up of personal belongings. Please read through this newsletter for important updates and end-of-the-year information.
It is very important that all individuals complete the Covid screener before coming to the school. If you or your child displays any symptoms, please follow the Health Unit guidelines to get tested or to contact your personal physician. Please call the office to reschedule a time to return your Chromebook/pick up your belongings.
Triboard Transportation
If your child takes a Triboard bus, please read the important busing information below. Many families will need to reapply for busing for the 2021-22 school year.
Grade 8 Graduation
Our Drive-In Graduation is scheduled for June 21 and 22. It looks like it's going to be rainy on Monday so we suggest that graduates bring their umbrellas. If it is pouring, the Graduation will take place under the overhang at the front of the school but if it is light rain we will continue with our plan to hold our drive-in graduation outside the cafeteria. Please contact your child's teacher if you have not received the graduation information and your pre-booked graduation appointment time yet.
Graduation Photos
Unfortunately, we were not able to reschedule graduation photos at the school due to provincial health guidelines.
Personal Belongings and Report Card Pick-Up and Return of Chromebooks and Other Items
Teachers have shared information for students to pick up their belongings and drop off Chromebooks and other items.
Grade 8 students will have an opportunity to drop-off borrowed Chromebooks and pick up their belongings at the Drive-In Graduation. Chromebooks can also be dropped off and belongings picked up on Thursday, June 24. Please remember to bring the charging cord! Grade 8 Report Cards will be mailed.
Grade 7 students will be asked to return Chromebooks (and charging cords) and pick up report cards and belongings on Thursday, June 24. Please come to the front of the school and look for your child's teacher.

We look forward to celebrating our 200 graduates on Monday and Tuesday this week! We know that they will move on to do great things! We also look forward to seeing our Grade 7 students when they pickup their belongings on June 24. We can't wait to welcome them back as Grade 8s in September. The first day of school for students for the 2021-22 school year is Tuesday, September 7.
As I mentioned in an earlier newsletter, I am retiring this year. I would like to thank you for the privilege of being involved in your child's educational journey. I wish each and every one of them happiness along whatever path their future holds for them.
On behalf of Ms. Pettingill and the Calvin Park Team, we wish you a happy and healthy summer with your loved ones!
Sincerely,
