Greetings PES Families!

We are off to a great start of the fall semester at PES! As we journey through this year, we remain committed to maintaining our success and accomplishing even more in regards to meeting the needs of our students.

Ms. Allgood and I have enjoyed visiting classrooms and seeing how excited everyone is about this new school year. It’s been great seeing our returning families again and we look forward to meeting those of you who are new to our learning community.

PES PTO is the Parent-Teacher Organization at Pflugerville Elementary. Parents of students who attend PES are automatically a part of our PTO. The PTO hosts fun events like Pfall Pfest, support our teachers and staff, and help communicate the needs of our families to the school board. Our PTO Board members are very excited about the 2023-2024 school year and have been very busy planning lots of fun activities and events that will take place throughout the year. Be sure to check out the PTO page on the PES campus website under the Parent/Parent and Family Engagement Tabs. There you can find info about upcoming PTO events, the PTO Spirit Store, the Birthday Marquee, the various PTO committees and interest groups that need your help.

Be sure to attend our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 12, at 5:45pm in the PES Library. If you sign-up for PTO emails at the above link, you will receive a calendar invite for the meeting and the Zoom link if you can't attend in person.

Picture Day is Tuesday, September 12! Be on the lookout for an order form sent home with your student or you can pre-order online at mylifetouch.com using this PES Picture Day ID: EVTQMGTGD. We will have a school picture re-take day on Tuesday, October 31, so no worries if your child misses the original day!

Pre-orders are currently available for this year's PES Yearbook. Order forms will be sent home, but you can also order online at ybpay.com, yearbook ID Code 9436924. The Early Bird price is $25, and will go up to $30 after Janusty. 1, 2024. The final order deadline is March 22, 2024.

If a parent needs to get out of the car at dismissal time, please park and cross at the crosswalk to collect your child and return to your car.

• 7:05am: School Doors Open/Breakfast Available
• 7:35am: Tardy Bell (students must be in classroom at this time to not be tardy)
• 2:47pm: PK-2nd Grade Dismissal Bell
• 2:50pm: 3rd-5th Grade Dismissal Bell

Welcome to the 23-24 school year! Please familiarize yourself with the following arrival and dismissal procedures below.

School Hours:

• Students can enter the building beginning at 7:05 AM. All students enter through the entrance doors nearest to the cafeteria.

• Breakfast is free for all students. Breakfast is served from 7:05-7:30.

• Students are tardy after 7:35 AM.

• Dismissal is at 2:47 for Prek4-2nd and at 2:50 for 3rd-5th

For Drivers Circulating to Drop off or Pick Up Students:

• Circulate; Do NOT park in the circulation lane.

• If you need to unload a student, please park and cross at the crosswalk near the entrance door.

• Do not drive across the parking spots through the circulation lane.

• Pull all the way up to the posted sign near the main school entrance to drop off and pick up; we do not want traffic backing up onto the street.

For Pedestrians:

• Walk only on crosswalks to cross the parking lot.

• Walk, do not run across the crosswalks.

*ECSE/PALS/PREK3 - Parents, your students have unique schedules for arrival and dismissal, please communicate with your student’s teacher!

Breakfast is free to all students, the student full price lunch cost is $2.90, and the reduced student lunch is $.40. If you qualify for the free/reduced lunch program, please sign-up on the following link: https://www.pfisd.net/Page/500

MySchoolBucks is available for online prepayment for meal accounts (there is a $2.75 service charge per transaction). Cash and checks via our school cafeteria are also acceptable forms of payment (no fee for use). Checks can be made out to Pflugerville ISD.
