August/September 2022
Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning students and families. There has been lots of activity over the summer and we can't wait to get this year started!
- The City of Stow is finishing up a water detention project located in our front parking area. This will alleviate the pooling that occurred on Graham Road at our entrance each time we had heavy rains.
- Welcome to our new staff members:
Miss Peterson - Intervention Specialist
Mrs. Duncan - Second grade, with Miss DeLong
Mr. Puett - Day Custodian
Mrs. Workman - Instructional Aide
Ms. Avery - Cook
Mrs. Bossell - Kitchen Manager
Mrs. Mate and Mr. Puett, along with the district maintenance staff, have worked hard over the summer to make sure our building is ready when students arrive.
You may notice some flowers in our front beds. In May, our third graders planted the start of a pollinator garden along with the help of local volunteer, Mr. Reiser.
- As you may have seen in the Stow Sentry or The Scoop summer edition, the universal free school breakfast and lunch programs that we have had the past two years are coming to an end. The cost of breakfast will be $2.00 and lunch will cost $3.00. If you would like to participate in the free and reduced lunch program, you can apply on the district website under the nutrition services tab or use the link within Final Forms.
- Supply lists are posted on our website. https://www.smfschools.org/7/Content2/634
- Class assignment emails will be sent on August 15 at 4:00pm.
- Open House for grades 1-4 will be on August 18 from 6:00-7:00pm
- Class assignments for Kindergarten will be sent on August 25th by 1:00pm.
- Kindergarten Open House is August 25 from 5:00-6:00pm.
