Week 4 - August 7th, 2023
Message from the Principal
Dear Spartans,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the start of the fourth week of the school year. I hope you had a great weekend and were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.
This week, I wanted to take a moment to share some upcoming events and reminders.
- Open House is scheduled for August 17th. It will be in person, with SCPA performances starting at 5pm and classroom visits at 6:00pm. Additionally, clubs and sports will have information booths in the quad.
This is a great opportunity to meet your student's teachers, learn about the school's programs and services, and ask any questions you have. - Fall Sports Parent/Guardian Night is this Wednesday, 8/9/23 at 6pm in the PAC. This is a mandatory event for all parents/guardians of student-athletes participating in a Fall sport. During this time, you will learn about the school's athletic policies and procedures, meet your coaches, and athletics administrators.
- Picture Day will be 8/15 through 8/18. Student ID Cards will be provided to all students at that time. All students are required to have a student ID card with them while at school.
I would also like to remind everyone about the importance of attending school every day and being on time. Students with good attendance tend to do better in school academically. Having poor attendance is the quickest way to get on the non-privilege list, and miss out on fun activities.
Finally, I want to thank you all for your continued support of Chula Vista High School. I am proud to be a Spartan, and I look forward to working with you all to make this year a success.
Sincerely,
Julio Alcala
Principal

Student Drop-Off and Gate Locations
Gates will be open for students to enter campus at 8:00am. We will have four entry points with designated drop off areas for students. Those are marked on the map with a blue arrow:
#1 North 100, drop off point is the driveway in the front of the 100 building.
#2 South 100, drop off point is the parking lot in front of the GYM.
#3 Youth Center, drop off point is the Youth Center parking lot on L street (before school program)
#4 K Street Gate, drop off point is on K street.
These areas will also serve as pick up points for students after school. For the safety of all, please make sure you observe all traffic patterns and rules. Also please note, supervision on campus will begin at 8:00am when the main campus gates are open. If you need to drop off your student earlier, please drop them off on gate 3, our Youth Center entrance starting at 7:15am. Here, we will provide a safe, supervised place through our before/after school program for your student to wait for the main campus to open.
