November- A Time to Remember
Dear Brace Students and Families,
November is upon us and we are now in the second half of the semester. Please note students do not have school the week of Nov 13-17th and it's an excellent opportunity to get some rest and also get caught up on any missing assignments. Parent Teacher interviews will be held on Nov 21st and 22nd but feel free to contact us about your child any time. As part of our communication process you should be receiving regular updates from BRACE teachers. All marks including report card comments (please select Y1) can be accessed online via the Power School Parent portal.
Students should be handing in at least one assignment each week and checking in with their teachers on a regular basis. Success involves spending just as much time on your online BRACE courses as you would in any other setting.
We are excited that the BRSD SAVY (Student-Led Advocacy for Voices of Youth)
group is up and running and proud to have Emily Holowchuk representing the students at BRACE. SAVY is a student engagement group created in Battle River School Division (BRSD) to help create and acknowledgestudent voice as well as foster future community leaders. Each High School in BRSD has at least one SAVY representative.
In school we will be having a short Remembrance Day ceremony in each of the classrooms on Thursday Nov 9th at 11 am.
Is your child on track to graduate? Please see us the office and we can look up your child's detailed academic report (DAR) and get students signed up for their My Pass account if they don't have an account set up.
If you have any questions, please contact me and reach out. Have a wonderful November!

Metis Week
MĒTIS WEEK 2023
Week of November 16
Louis Riel devoted and sacrificed his life defending the rights of Métis people. Riel’s legacy continues to resonate across the homeland.
Each year, on November 16, Métis people across Canada pay tribute to the Right Honourable Louis Riel by holding a commemorative ceremony on the date of his execution. This ceremony symbolizes the commitment Métis people share in striving for and promoting the visions of Louis Riel and is one of the most important dates on the Métis calendar. Check out Rupertsland Institute for more information.
