THANK YOU
We, the staff of St. Peter School, would like to extend our most sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to all who were able to donate to our St. Peter School Food Drive and Giving Tree! Because of your generosity, we were able to make a difference in the lives of so many this holiday season.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
EQUITABLE & INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IS OUR GOAL
Equitable and inclusive education is one of our goals here at St. Peter School.
We recognize the importance of selecting texts/resources for students to consider that “books continue to be an invaluable source of information and values. They reflect the
attitudes in our society about diversity, power relationships among different groups of people, and
various social identities.”
Representation matters! When selecting resources that will be used in our classrooms, staff will consider and prioritize the following:
What is the author/illustrator background, are they writing about an identity group in which
they belong to?
PIZZA DAY UPDATE
ECO NEWS
Be sure to follow our Evergreen Eco Team on Twitter to check out all the amazing initiatives and activies our team has planned! @ecoStPeter
Here's a quick recap of a few of the ongoing initiatives:
Help reduce harmful single use plastic by purchasing a St. Peter School reusable water bottle and cutlery sets (available on SchoolCash Online)
Battery recycling (drop off in box by the eco display case)
Pack a Plate campaign (bring a reusable plate on pizza days to reduce paper towel consumption)
Waste Free Lunches/Trashless Tuesdays (pack a waste free lunch every Tuesday)
COLD WEATHER INFO
Please note that we do not have a lost and found area this year. Ensuring that your children's items are labelled would be extremely helpful if items are lost or misplaced.
As the days get colder, there will be instances when the students will not go out for outdoors. Dufferin -Peel’s policy is that the amount of time outdoors should be reduced for children (grade 8 and under) when the temperature is -20 degrees Celsius or colder. When the temperature or equivalent wind chill temperature is -25 degrees Celsius or lower children shall be kept indoors.

MOVING TOWARDS MORE CASHLESS INITIATIVES
As we continue to strive towards making St. Peter School a safe learning environment, we would like to reduce the amount of cash that students bring to school. As we plan upcoming events, we will do so with a focus on making events and activities "cashless". In the event that a payment is required, we will be encouraging all families to use SchoolCash Online as the preferred payment method. In the coming weeks, you will be receiving information about our Friday Tuck Shop moving to SchoolCash Online payments. Stay tuned!
We thank you in advance for supporting our vision of making St. Peter School a safe learning environment!
