Dutch Fork News and Celebrations

The 5A State Cheerleading Championship is this Saturday at Colonial Life Arena. The 5A division starts at 6:00 PM and we compete at 6:49 PM. Admission is $15. Tickets can be purchased in advance through GoFan or at the CLA box office on Saturday (cash only). CLA has a clear bag policy for spectators. We would love to fill Section 102 with a sea of green to support DFVC!

There will also be a send off on Saturday at 3:30 PM at the high school as we leave for CLA. Thank you!!

Shoutout to Megan Estes and Dr. Verrilli for organizing and hosting DFHS’ first-ever “Best Sellers Lit Night” last night in the DFHS Library Commons! The students had a blast creating book-themed crafts, imbibing hot chocolate, meeting with experts in the fields of literacy and library science, discussing current best sellers, perusing the Book Fair, and choosing from a wide variety of free books for the taking. Hopefully, it was the beginning of an annual tradition!

Ms. Kerry McGregor received scores from October's testing window for the FBLA Competition. Our team did extremely well.

We had 4 compete and all 4 ranked in the top 5 inf the state.

Jeffrey Hu ranked #1, Elianna Miller-Martinez ranked #2, Krupa Patel ranked #3 and Zhixuan Xu ranked #5.

Jeffrey Hu ranked not only #1 in the state but he ranked #1 in the nation.

We are so proud of our FBLA team members.

The Silver Fox Racing team competed in their first race yesterday in Charlotte at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. They placed 2nd overall and won the graphic design/team identity portion!! I am super proud of these guys and gals so if you see any of them congratulate them.

On Wednesday 11/15, the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy and Book Buddies group visited Dutch Fork Elementary School. Every year Chick-fil-A donates over 1 million books to children in their local communities and CFA provided the DFHS Leader Academy with books for 160 children to distribute. Our student groups chose DFES to receive this year's donation of books. We visited the 4K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classrooms, and brought along a very special guest - Foxy!!! The children were so excited to see Foxy and were very excited over their new bundle of books. Each student also had a handwritten note of encouragement from our DFHS students. Thank you for having CFALA and Book Buddies DFES!
