Wilson Focus Facts 2023-24
February - March Lion Pride News for our FOCUS Families!
Dear Wilson Focus Families and Friends,
Each and every day is a new adventure at Wilson Focus School. It brings so much excitement to me and our staff to see the continual growth of every student. It is our belief to have high expectations for ourselves and all of our students. It is very evident that our students have high expecatons for themselves through their goal setting and social and academic growth.
Conferences will be held Wednesday, March 27th and March 28th. Please sign up to meet with your child's teacher using the link provided in the conference section of this newsletter. It is our goal to have 100% participation.
Think Spring! March 19th is the first day of Spring. After, our frigid temperatures and winter snow fall, the spring sunshine will be a welcome sight.
Feel free to reach out to me at any time, Luann.jacobs@ops.org or (531) 299-2260.
Mrs. Jacobs

FOURTH GRADE WILL PARTICIPATE IN NAEP
Our 4th graders will participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on Tuesday, February 6th.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) provides important information about student achievement and learning experiences in various subjects. Also known as The Nation’s Report Card, NAEP has provided meaningful results to improve education policy and practice since 1969. Results are available for the nation, states, and 27 urban districts.
For additional information you may visit the link below.
Arrival: It is important to not arrive until after 7:35 a.m. If you are here before 7:35a.m. please keep your child in the car or stand outside with them to supervise.
Pick Up: If you are picking up your child after school please remember to be here by 3:30 and 4:30 on Enrichment days.
Tardy and Early Release: Unless for a medical appointment, students who come late or are picked up early, the time is counted as unexcused and adds to their total absences. When a student comes into the classroom late or leaves early it interrupts not only their learning but the learning of the entire class.
Buses: If your child normally rides the bus home and you want to pick them up at 3:30 pm or 4:30 pm on Enrichment days, it is critical that you call the office by 3:00 p.m. for us to make the switch from bus to parent pick up. Students will be placed on the bus unless we have a parent phone call. This is for the safety of your child.
Attendance: It is important for students to show up each day on time for their school journey and so we can work together to GROW your child's academic knowledge. It is parent responsibility to contact the school to report absences by calling (531) 299-2260. It is important that we verify the safety of your child by knowing they will not be at school. Provide doctors notes for excused absences.
