Principal's Message
Dear Fort Parents,
It has been an exciting and eventful few weeks at The Fort, and we're delighted to share some highlights and important reminders with you in our latest newsletter.
Race for Education Success: We are thrilled to report that our Race for Education event was a resounding success! It wouldn't have been possible without the tremendous efforts of Ashley Jackson, the hard work of our dedicated PTA, and the invaluable support of our parent volunteers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for making this event such a great achievement. We were able to raise $39,294 from 613 supporters. WOW!
First Marking Period Reminders:
As we conclude the first marking period, we want to provide you with some important information:
- Principal's Honor Roll: This distinction is awarded to students who earn ALL A's and ALL CD's (Consistently Demonstrating) on their report cards in all areas.
- Honor Roll: Students can achieve Honor Roll status by earning all A's or B's. One C is allowed, as long as it is balanced by an A. Honor Roll students may earn either CD's or PR's, but please note that EM's or ND's are not eligible for this recognition.
- Perfect Attendance: We use specific codes to recognize perfect attendance - 100% attendance, all day, every day. It's a commendable achievement, and we encourage all students to strive for it.
Bus Behavior: In recent weeks, we've observed an uptick in concerning behavior on the school bus. We kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter. Please take a moment to talk to your children about the importance of appropriate bus behavior, respecting fellow students, and following the rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for all.
Your partnership in fostering a positive and respectful school environment is greatly appreciated. We are confident that, with your support, we can maintain our high standards of conduct on the school bus and throughout our school community.
Meetings with Administration: As we continue to work together to ensure the best educational experience for your children, I would like to remind you about our approach to parent-principal meetings. We greatly value the opportunity to meet with parents and discuss any concerns, questions, or ideas you may have. Your insights are invaluable to us in fostering a productive school environment. In order to make these meetings as productive and accommodating as possible, we kindly request that you schedule appointments in advance.
To set up a meeting with me or any member of our team, please do so by calling our front office. This allows us to allocate the necessary time and resources to address your needs effectively. This also helps us to ensure that you receive our undivided attention during your meeting.
While we are always open to meeting with parents, we must emphasize that accommodating walk-in meetings can be challenging. By scheduling an appointment, you help us to better prepare for our discussions and create a more conducive environment for meaningful conversations.
We are committed to fostering strong partnerships with our parents, and your proactive approach in scheduling meetings contributes to this goal. Together, we can continue to work towards the best interests of our students.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the front office. We are here to support you and your child's educational journey.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support in making Fort School a great place for our students to learn and grow.
Warm regards,
Molly Courtien

Early Dismissal Requests
To help streamline our dismissal process and minimize disruptions to classroom instruction, we kindly request that all early dismissals be completed before 1:25 PM. This allows us to maintain a focused learning environment for our students and ensures their educational experience remains uninterrupted.
We understand that there may be exceptional circumstances that require an early dismissal, and we will always try to accommodate those situations. However, please communicate early dismissals to the front office before 1:25 PM.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Your commitment to this effort is greatly appreciated.
