School Calendar Updates
We appreciate your support and flexibility during the inclement weather in January. In order to meet the Arkansas Department of Educationās required number of in-person student days, we will be making the following updates to the 2023-24 school calendar:
ā¢ February 19, 2024 will now be an IN-PERSON school day for students. This was previously a virtual learning day, but we will transition to an in-person instructional day for all students.
ā¢ Wednesday, May 29, 2024 will be the Last Day for Students. Previously, the last day for students was Wednesday, May 22nd, but we have added May 23, May 24, May 28, and May 29 to make up for our days missed due to inclement weather. All eStem Schools & Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day.
In addition to these changes, we will also make the following changes due to the Eclipse on April 8, 2024.
ā¢ Monday, April 8, 2024, we will NOT have school for students. This will be a virtual professional development day for faculty and staff.
ā¢ Friday, April 12, 2024 will now be an IN-PERSON school day for students. This was previously a staff professional development day, but we will transition to an in-person instructional day to accommodate for the eclipse.
We also wanted to share with you the approved 2024-25 school calendar.

Lunch Time
We are running into an issue with students deciding that they do not like the school lunch that is provided for the day. They are then choosing not to eat in the cafeteria and instead go to the nurse's office to ask for snacks. We are not able to provide those snacks to your students as an alternative to eating their lunch. Please review the attached menus with your children and discuss their lunch choices. If they do not like the option for the day, please send them with a lunch from home. The snacks in the nurse's office are for emergency situations only. If your child does this, they will be told no.

Attendance
Dear eStem Families,
We wanted to take a moment to reiterate our focus this year of reaching Every Student, Every Day and to emphasize the importance of regular student attendance for your childās success.
To help illustrate the importance of our students coming to school each day, please see the graphic below that shows just how much instruction is missed when students are absent, even just 1 day every 2 weeks can add up quickly and result in a lot of missed instruction!
We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances may lead to absences. In these cases, please communicate with the school and provide the necessary documentation. However, we are asking that you prioritize your childās attendance whenever possible. eStemās attendance policy can be found in our student handbooks, and weāve included a quick link HERE. Students are only allotted 10 absences per year, and we have many students who have exceeded this number in the first semester. Exceeding these 10 absences could result in loss of credit or retention. If you have questions about the number of days your child has missed, you can access this information through HAC or email your childās school registrar for additional help.
Letās work together to ensure that your child receives the best possible education, and their school attendance is a vital piece to their achievement. We appreciate your help and commitment to making your childās attendance a top priority!
