• September 22 - Early Dismissal(student busing begins at 1:25pm)

This school year we will once again be participating in Therapeutic horse riding at the Renew riding center . Most students are eligible for riding unless they have medical restrictions. All participants MUST have the Renew parent / medical health wavier completed by parents and their family doctor. (Students over 200 lbs. in weight are also not able to ride.)

The riding sessions will be on Thursdays and are 6 weeks in length. The first riding session will be Sept. 14 - Oct. 19. Session 2 will be Nov. 2 - Dec. 14. Session 3-5 will be in January / February/ March ; dates to be determined. Renew release forms will be sent home in backpacks or you can print them at home -

The Ottawa Area Center is excited to welcome students and families to our Open House, September 14, 2023 from 5-7pm. We will have classrooms open and teachers and classroom staff will be available in their classrooms. We will have over 15 agencies in the small gym with resources for families in our community.

My name is Michelle Brothers and I work in conjunction with Ottawa Community Schools Network (OCSN) and the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District as the Student Services Coordinator for the Ottawa Area Center. In this role, I am committed to working alongside you to help your child succeed in school.

In my role as the student services coordinator I partner with schools, the community, and families to remove barriers to academic achievement for students. While you may see me doing many different things around the school, my primary job is making sure students and families have what they need to be successful. One way I do this is by connecting families, students, and the school to resources in the community.

This is an opportunity for parents to come in on an as needed basis to make connections and answer any questions you may have about the services they offer.
