The Character Pillar for April is Fairness
Principal's Message
Dear MPE Family,
The Lunch Menu for May is below!
We are so proud of our Lions! Last Friday, Mrs. Kelner and Dr. Dolan taught our students about Autism Acceptance. We are going to donate to LACD the proceeds from our penny wars. The final total and the winning grade will be announced at our Pep Rally next week.
Students met with their buddies on Monday to learn about their heritages. They completed Venn diagrams and talked about similarities and differences. Students were reminded of the
LPS 100 percents and the pillars of character. Please ask your child what they learned.
Our 4th graders went to the zoo this week and they had a wonderful time completing a scavenger hunt.
We had an exciting chess tournament on Thursday after school. Congratulations to Agam in grade 3! Special thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Yalt, the LHS chess team and Mr. Peklo (from LHS) for making our first year of the chess club so successful. Congrats to Erem, Dana and Advait in grade 5 for making it to the tournament.
On Thursday, many staff members brought their children to MPE! Thank you to the office staff and MPE PTA for making the day so special.
The students made cards for Nurse Cullen in their classrooms. We will deliver them to her home as she will not be returning to MPE. We wish her much success in her new position. We are actively interviewing for her position and will let you know when we have found the ideal candidate.
The last day of the Pretzel Friday is today, April 28th. Don't forget to pack snacks going forward.
The spring is very busy at MPE. Be sure to read the PTA blast on Tuesdays and the MPE Roar on Fridays.
Consider attending the Board of Education meeting on May 15 to honor our MPE teacher of the year, Mrs. Triana! Congratulations to Mrs. Triana, grade 4 teacher.
