Welcome Letter
Greetings Giants,
We hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer break! We are busy planning and getting things ready for the new year. We are all so eager to be back together!
TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Do you know anyone looking for a QUALITY, CATHOLIC, & AFFORDABLE education for their child? We have openings in many of our classes and would love to add more Giants to our school and parish family. Have anyone that is interested call the school office to schedule a tour!

REMINDER- The summer office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:00-11:00. Beginning the week of July 31, we will resume regular office hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:30.
Mark Your Calendars:
Wednesday, August 2- New Family Meeting- 6:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria. This is an informational meeting for families that are new to Holy Name.
Sunday, August 6- Back to School Event- Stop in during your allotted time frame below and meet your teachers! You can bring supplies to classrooms and pick up information from your teachers.

Mrs. McMillan will be moving from 3rd grade to Kindergarten! She and Mrs. Bergman will make a great team!

Mrs. Lewis is moving on up to 2nd grade this year! She gets to have another year with her students from 1st grade!
Mrs. Rachel Jones...
Mrs. Jones will be moving from 5th grade to 3rd grade! She can't wait to welcome the new crew of students to the intermediate hallway!

Same classroom...new subject area! We are thrilled to have Mrs. Johnson sharing her knowledge and love of literature with our middle school students!
First Grade Teacher...Mrs. Kari DeHart
My name is Kari DeHart, and I am excited to be a part of the Holy Name family! I have been
teaching for 12 years. I have a true passion for working with our young learners! I strive to
create a community of learners that nurtures growth in a positive and fun environment.
I have been married for 22 years and have two wonderful children that are 19 & 16. My son
Garrett is a sophomore at Franklin College. My daughter Rylan is a junior at Indian Creek High
School. We love to watch our kids' sports - baseball and softball. I also enjoy spending time
with family and friends.
I look forward to working together with you as partners in your child's growth and development!!
Fourth Grade Teacher...Miss Hannah Smith I grew up on the south side of Indianapolis. I attended St. Mark and Roncalli. I have taught first, second, and now fourth grade. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and building a relationship with their families. I am a parishioner at St. Roch. I love to crochet, garden, and volunteer my time in religious education. I felt a calling to teach at Catholic schools because of my love for religious education and I attended Catholic schools myself. I chose Holy Name because of the great catholic school environment and close connections to people dear to me. I am excited to become a part of the Holy Name community! Fifth Grade Teacher...Mrs. Amanda Bourne Hello, everyone! My name is Amanda Bourne and I am thrilled to join Holy Name Catholic School this year as the 5th grade teacher. I hail from the beautiful state of Louisiana and love all things Cajun! I hold a BS from The University of Louisiana Monroe and an MA in Teaching from Marian University. I consider teaching to be my vocation and feel blessed to do such amazing work with young people! I reside in Zionsville with my husband Matthew, our elementary age son Harvey, and our dogs Eddie and Olive. In my free time I enjoy NCAA sports, reading historical fiction, and learning about technology. Middle School Science Teacher...Miss Isabella Crawford Hello! I will be teaching Middle School Science. I attended IUPUI and have a Master’s degree in Biology. I love hiking with my dog, Bear, and my fiancé. Middle School Social Studies Teacher...Mr. Ethan Morris Ethan Morris just moved to Beech Grove from Louisville, Kentucky, where he taught world history at Trinity High School. He is an alumnus of Middle Tennessee State University and worked in museums in Tennessee, Kentucky, and the United Kingdom before transitioning into teaching. This will be his eighth year in the classroom. Outside of school, he and his wife enjoy traveling, playing board games, hunting down great coffee, and watching soccer. He is looking forward to being a part of the Holy Name, and Beech Grove, community. Instructional Assistant...Mrs. Jennifer Schilling Hello my name is Jennifer Schilling and I am excited to be joining the Holy Name School family as an Instructional Assistant! I am so excited as I truly love being a part of what helps to grow a child’s mind and soul! My children are also students at Holy Name and have had such a wonderful experience! My hobbies include coaching softball, running a cheer program, joking around (my favorite!), concerts, art, collecting books I only half finish, and a new-found love of recreational volleyball with my husband! We hail from Franklin Township and we are so happy to be Giants! Keep an eye out during the next couple weeks for reminders about the start of school. Middle school students (grades 6-8) may pick up schedules and locker information beginning Wednesday, August 2. Don't forget the back-to-school forms that need to be completed! These were sent through School Messenger email earlier this month. There are several items that need your attention; please contact us with any questions. You can bring these during office hours, complete and send them via email to Mrs. Beeson (jbeeson@holyname.cc), or bring them with you on Back-to-School day (Sunday, August 6). We are so excited to see our Giant family in just a few weeks! This school year is sure to be full of exciting new learning and growing as we celebrate another incredible year of knowing, loving, and serving God. Go Giants!

Southside Flag Football League
- St. Mark Athletic Committee is accepting flag football registration for 2023. Boys and girls entering grades K-2 are eligible to play and the registration fee is $60.00. Registration deadline is August 19, practices may begin the week of August 21, and the first games scheduled for September 9. The season ends on October 28 and includes a schedule pause to accommodate Fall Break. Practices are normally once per week and are scheduled by the coaches.
Due to construction at St. Mar, all games are held on Saturday mornings at Roncalli High School.
