American Education Week
American Education Week is an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and watch your children in action as they learn something new, participate in a curricular activity, or give a special presentation for visitors. For this week's schedule, see the "Mark the Calendar" section of this Gazette.
We invite you to come and join us, remembering that cell phone use while in the school is not permitted, and that this is an “adults only” visit as small children may disrupt instruction during this time.
We are Thankful!
This year we will once again extend the spirit of giving to the Thanksgiving Holiday. As a school community, we would like to offer support to Gayman families in need by means of food baskets. Each classroom will be collecting items to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for a family in need. We are suggesting that each child bring in a food item from the list below. Contributions will be collected in the classrooms until Thursday, November 17th.
If you would like to make a monetary contribution, we will use the funds to purchase grocery store gift cards for families. Please send your donation (cash or check made payable to “Gayman Elementary School”) to the school office in an envelope marked “Thanksgiving Fund.”
We appreciate your voluntary participation in this worthwhile project. We truly believe that in giving we also receive, and helping others immeasurably enriches our children’s lives.

Kids Care Club - Wrapping Presence Recap
Kids Care Club had a fantastic event last week, decorating shopping bags for Wrapping Presence. It was a year in the making, since last November's session was canceled due to Covid — but it was well worth the wait. Thirty-five Gayman Mustangs gathered in the library to learn more about the mission of Wrapping Presence, and then put their creativity into action.
Cheryl Paradiso, our guest speaker and director of Wrapping Presence, shared this via email: "What a wonderful afternoon I had sharing the mission of Wrapping Presence with so many enthusiastic students and caring moms. Their artwork is all fabulous. It is so great to see the students participating in activities that will help make them into solid, kind adults who will understand that service to others makes the world a better place."
If your child was unable to participate but you'd like to learn more about Wrapping Presence and be of service this holiday season, please visit their website. Thank you!
