Dunk Tank
Step right up, folks! Get ready for the coolest carnival experience of the year brought to you by Supreme Bouncers, the ultimate source of inflatable fun in the Midlands! We're thrilled to announce that we'll be delivering the main attraction for the upcoming 8th-grade day PTO fundraiser: the Dunk Tank!
But hold onto your hats because this isn't just any old Dunk Tank experience – oh no! This is your chance of a lifetime to aim and dunk your favorite (or maybe not-so-favorite) teacher or staff member! That's right, folks, you heard it here first! Picture it now: your math teacher, your history buff, or even the friendly school janitor all perched on the edge, waiting for that splashdown moment!
Now, how do you get in on the action, you ask? It's simple! Just bring your cash or whip out your Hand PTO Cashapp QR Code, and for just $2 per ball or $5 for a bundle of three balls, you'll have your shot at glory! Will you make a splash or will you need a few more tries to send them splashing into the water? There's only one way to find out!
And here's the kicker – you won't believe who's stepping up to take the plunge! We've got a lineup of surprise participants ready to brave the chilly waters of the Dunk Tank, and trust us, you won't want to miss it!
So mark your calendars, spread the word, and get ready to aim if you dare at the 8th-grade day PTO fundraiser! It's going to be a dunk-tastic day of laughter, fun, and maybe just a little friendly competition. See you there!
8GR Promotion Day Information
Dear 8th Grade Parents & Guardians,
May 29th, 2024, is approaching, and the excitement is growing every day. This informational letter provides specifics for the promotion ceremony, so all families and friends can celebrate, praise, and congratulate our Hand scholars for a wonderful school year. Because of their hard work, dedication, and commitment all promoted scholars can officially start their summer break at the conclusion of the promotion ceremony. We hope that our rising 9th Grade scholars will enjoy this time with family and friends. It is well deserved!
Scholar Drop-Off and Guest Parking:
All 8th grade scholars invited to attend the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony should report directly to Bethel AME. The scholar entrance and drop-off will be on Preston Street. Please drop off scholars starting at 8:30 am and no later than 9:10 am. (Follow the HAND BLUE balloons.) Guest and handicap parking are on Preston Street side, too. All guests will enter through the front of the church on Woodrow Street near the stairs.
(Guests who need to use the elevator should enter through the scholar entrance on Preston Streets.)
Welcoming Family and Friends:
Parents, guardians, family, and friends seating and ticket scanning will begin at the stairs on Woodrow Street at 9:00 am. Please arrive with all desired members present because reserving seats/ rows will not be permitted. Seating is not assigned; therefore, seating is first come first serve. Additional seating is available on the upstairs balcony and downstairs in the overflow room.
The procession begins at 9:30 am sharp. The front doors will be closed briefly during the procession to prevent interruptions. Please be patient until the doors re-open. Our volunteers and junior ambassadors will assist you in finding a seat. Please see the photo attached for pictorial information.

PTO Treasurer NEEDED 'SY'24-'25
Hello Hornets:
Please see the very important message from our current PTO Treasurer, Jessamine Grice. If upon your review, you have the ability and time to devote to this very important role next school year, email Carolyn Wilson, carolyn.wilson@richlandone.org to receive Ms. Grice's contact information.
Making the transition to Treasurer is not a quick task and I would like to get started before the school year ends. The credit union requires the approval of the PTO board members (and a copy of our minutes) to add anyone’s name onto our account. There is also online information that needs to be changed with the secretary of state and our payment apps.
Thank you for your consideration with this request.
