MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Good afternoon parents!
I want to wish everyone a Happy Safe Restful Holiday and Winter Break!! I will not be putting out any more updates until January 2nd. Please remember Friday is an early dismissal day at 12:55.
Please have your child check lost and found by Friday. I will be packing all of the items left after that to donate.
I want to give some props to Mrs. Bartholomew and her class for providing the staff with Buddy the Elf's cookie treat last week. Students in her class decided which cookies to make and made them on Tuesday. On Thursday staff was invited to enjoy the cookies made by the class. They were delicious and the staff really enjoyed the treat!
Some things to look forward to when we return from break are on January 5th we will celebrate students who had perfect attendance for the 1st trimester. They will be able to invite one adult to participate in a ceremony that afternoon with a cake served after. Look for invitations this week! Danbury Hat Tricks hockey players will be visiting us on January 8th to demonstrate their skills and to get students excited about the MES night at the Hat Tricks on Jan 13th.
Here is a link to the flyer for the Spirit Week for this week before Winter break.
I THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT OF ALL OUR WONDERFUL INITATIVES!

A Note from the Nurse
When should I keep my child home from school?
Consider keeping your child home if they:
- Have a fever of 100.1 degrees or higher
- Have been vomiting
- Have pink eye(s)
- Have flu like symptoms
- Have Covid-19 like symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 [please see school nurse for updated guidelines and recommendations]
- Have symptoms preventing them from participating in school such as:
- Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite
- Productive coughing or sneezing, inability to consistently cover cough/sneeze
- Headache, body aches, earache
- Sore throat
- Rash
- Keep your child home until their fever has been gone for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Please see school nurse for updated guidelines and recommendations concerning Covid-19. Colds can be contagious for at least 48 hours. Although your child's presence in school is important, returning to school too soon may slow the recovery process and expose others unnecessarily to illness.
