Congratulations to WHS Sophomore, Elise Ketola, for earning the title of 2022 UP Girls Singles Champion in High School Bowling over the weekend at River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming. Elise recorded an incredible 198.5 average while qualifying. She is pictured below with Coach Barrie Rae and Coach Pat Gingras.

Four of the sixteen girls who made the top 16 match-play format were Westwood Patriot bowlers: Senior Lyla Burke, Junior Kylie Junak, Sophomore Elise Ketola, and Junior Kirsten LaMere.

The WHS girls ended their season 9-0, the second year in a row of an undefeated season. The WHS boys went 5-4 for the season. Next up for our bowlers is team finals (boys and girls) in Menominee this Saturday, 2/19, and then Regionals in Traverse City on 2/25 & 2/26.

Westwood High School Senior Savannah Sevegney signed her letter of intent to play basketball and continue her education as an English major for Finlandia University next year.

WHS Wrestlers are advancing to Regionals in Charlevoix next weekend!

Congratulations to Spencer Harvala and Brandon Vickstrom for advancing to the regional competition in Charlevoix. Spencer took first in the 215 weight class and Brandon was fourth and 285. Good luck at regionals!
