Welcome New Members!
Thanks again to everyone who came out to help with interviews! Thanks to your efforts, we have offered membership to sixty amazing, passionate educators. They will begin work on the New Member Onboarding Program next week. Here are some quick stats on the incoming New Member class!
We have 60 new members representing 41 Fulton Schools.
CLC: 15
NELC: 10
NWLC: 17
SLC/AZ: 16
53 are teachers.
5 are METIs.
2 are instructional support staff.
44 are from elementary schools.
14 are from middle schools.
7 are from high schools.
Some interesting jobs include Orchestra Director, AVID Coordinator, and STREAM Teacher.
They have just been added to the Vanguard General channel in Teams, so please show them our best Vanguard hospitality!
Vanguard XP Tracker
The new Vanguard XP Tracker is now live! You can access it right here. Thanks everyone for your patience as I worked to build a tracker from the ground up on top of our new streamlined XP submission system. I was even able to implement a frozen top row and frozen left columns to make your browsing experience much more convenient. It’s sorted by Learning Community, then school, then I think you’ll be pleased with the results! If you have any feedback, please email me at evansj@fultonschools.org.
I do want to strongly emphasize that it is critical for you to correctly enter your email address every time you submit an XP form. Your email is the key piece of data that connects everything together, so even a slight misspelling will lead to your points not correctly being reflected in the tracker.
Leadership Applications Closed
The application window for our open leadership positions in the CLC and NELC are now closed. Thank you to all who applied! We are now going through the applications and we will begin reaching out to applicants next week.
Last Call! Vanchise Applications & Renewals- Due Oct 19th
Vanchise Application Deadline – Now Friday, October 19th
Given that we recently concluded our new member admission process, we want to give you one additional week to submit a Vanchise Application/Renewal. Our hope is that you will take this time to meet with any applicants at your school that we could not accept during this recruiting window, and explore ways for you to involve them in a Vanchise at your school.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extend the reach of your Vanguard Team by starting a Vanchise! Vanchise teams have the latitude to tackle any tasks and challenges that are related to Vanguard's mission.
The perks?
Collaborating with an amazing group of educators + $1,000 as a team to spend subject to the same rules as the regular stipend.
We are asking all of our Vanchises, new and returning, to complete the Vanchise application and set for themselves a single SMART goal aligned to our four pillars... TIMS. See the application for more details.

edcamp Fulton- October 27th
Saturday, October 27th
We have our first EdCamp scheduled and ready to go! It will be Saturday, October 27th from 9am – 12pm at Hapeville Elementary School in the CLC.
If you’re not familiar with the EdCamp model, here are some things you should know.
- Free and open to all. Invite anyone from your Vanchise and school that might be interested!
- Participant-driven. Sessions are determined by the participants before and at the event; there are no presentations or keynotes. The goal is to keep sessions spontaneous, interactive and responsive to everyone’s needs.
- Experience, not Experts. The educators in the room are professionals worthy of sharing their expertise in a collaborative setting.
- Reliant on the Rule of Two Feet. Participants are encouraged to actively self-select the best content and sessions. If the session you’re in isn’t for you, or isn’t meeting your needs, go find one that is!
In an upcoming VanWeekly, we will ask for your session ideas so we can begin to plan for the event.
