SPANISH CLUB
Students will learn Spanish independently using the Mango Languages App.
We will meet to celebrate progress once every 3 months.
Our first organizational meeting is Tues. Oct. 31 at 7:45 a.m. in the media center. It is for 2nd-5th grade.
To study on Mango, students or parents must get a card from the public library. (Not a Branch-out card). With this regular library card, the program is free (otherwise, it is very expensive) So, please get your regular library card as soon as possible if you don't already have one. Once you have the card, follow these steps:
Go to MangoLanguages.com
Pick a Language (Spanish, Latin America)
Find Mango free
Enter 30047 or your zip code
Choose Gwinnett County Public Library
Enter your library card
Then, you or your child can start learning.
We will also begin showing the lessons on the morning announcements at school starting Wed. Nov. 1st. If your child is working ahead, this will be review.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful independent learning opportunity.
¡Muchas gracias!

Digital Learning Day - Friday, November 3
Friday, November 3 is the next GCPS Digital Learning Day. All students will learn from home, completing work assigned by their teachers. This newsletter provides you with some guidance and reminders as you prepare for DLD.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE A DIGITAL LEARNING DAY
We encourage you to make sure your child is ready for DLD before November 3. This will make the morning of the Digital Learning Day smoother for everyone!
- Has your child joined the necessary Google Classrooms?
- Most of our students have done this in their regular classroom.
- Parents cannot join a GCPS Google Classroom.
- If your child is using a home device for DLD, have they logged into their Student Portal and Google account prior to DLD?
- Have you added your child's GCPS Google account to any personal devices?
- If planning to use a tablet (iPad, Kindle, etc...) for DLD, have you downloaded all the necessary apps?

Georgia Student Health Survey (3rd-5th Grade)
To help improve our schools and those across the state, Gwinnett County Public Schools students in grades 3-12 will
participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey. The GSHS is an anonymous and statewide survey instrument that
covers topics such as school climate and safety, peer, and adult social support, bullying, mental health, substance abuse,
and suicidal ideation.
The Student Survey will be open for students in grades 3-12 via the GCPS Student Portal from November 6 – December 15, 2023.
Parents may complete the opt-out process if they do not wish their student(s) to participate in the survey. Parents may
use the Parent Portal to complete this process, or they may send a written request to the schools to opt their student(s)
out of this survey. Please note that any parent/guardian wishing to opt his/her student out of the survey should
complete the online form or inform the school in writing at least 72 business hours before the school has scheduled the
administration of the survey to ensure that the student does not participate. Please complete this by Wednesday, November 1st.
